Student Poetry Submission Form
Thank you for your interest in the Jupiter Hammon Poetry Celebration open-mic! Any Long Island student in grades 6-12 is eligible to submit their poetry. Each student may submit 1 poem (maximum 40 lines long). Students are encouraged explore themes of freedom, resistance, and the power of writing—ideas that resonate deeply with Hammon’s own writing. If your poem is selected, you will be invited to read your work at the event on June 19th 2025.

Plagiarism is not permitted, and any entry found to contain plagiarism will be disqualified.
