About

The NKF-CNSW New Worker Award is given to nephrology social workers who have been in the field three (3) to five (5) years and who have made noteworthy contributions to patient services and project involvement.

Who Should Be Nominated?
- Nominee must be in first three to five years of renal social work practice.
- Nominee must have demonstrated outstanding contributions to patient services.
- Nominee must have demonstrated a high level of project involvement (including CNSW chapter projects as well as any other activities impacting ESRD patient issues).
- Nominee must be a national member of the CNSW (an MSW and licensed in their state, if applicable, per Federal Regulations), and actively involved in some aspect of renal social work.
Guidelines:
- Nominations should be submitted by a nephrology professional.
- Only one nomination for the New Worker Award will be accepted per CNSW chapter each year.
- Nominations will be distributed to members of the NKF-CNSW Executive Committee for voting. The award will be given to the individual(s) receiving 70% of Executive Committee members' votes.
- Awards will not be granted to individuals who have won the award in the last five (5) years. Click here to view previous winners.
- Current members of the CNSW Executive Council are not eligible to be nominated.

The nominee must 1) have an MSW degree and be licensed in their state, if applicable, per Federal Regulations, and 2) be a member of the national CNSW.

Award recipients will be evaluated in the areas listed below. Workplace activities should be ABOVE and BEYOND the scope of the typical work of a nephrology social worker.
