CE Credits: Eligible participants will receive 2 NBCC, PA SW/LPC/MFT, and/or ACT 48 Credits upon completion of course requirements.
Child Guidance Resource Centers (CGRC) is approved by the National Board for Certified Counselors, Inc., the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Professional Counselors, and the Pennsylvania Department of Education (ACT 48) to award continuing education credits to eligible participants.
Description: The emotional demands of working with trauma and suicidality can lead to compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma, and potentially burnout. This course will use self-assessment tools to help participants recognize signs of burnout and provide evidence-based strategies to enhance resilience and sustain one’s career
Course Format: This 2-hour course will be held on-line via Zoom. The course format will include a PowerPoint Presentation combined with self-assessment, interactive exercises and case examples.
Course Objectives: This course is intended to enable participants to:
- Recognize Early Signs of Burnout: Identify warning signs of vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue in oneself and colleagues.
- Develop Resilience and Self-Care Strategies: Learn how to create an individualized self-care and stress management plan to maintain emotional well-being.
- Establish Healthy Professional Boundaries: Learn how to implement strategies to balance empathy with professional detachment.
- Foster a Supportive Work Environment: Explore ways to enhance peer support, supervision, and workplace policies that promote mental health.
- Implement Sustainable Work Practices: Learn time and case-load management strategies, and how to use reflective practices to sustain your career.
