  • Dear Guidance Counselor/Parent or Guardian/Student:

    The Colorado Rocky Mountian Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a sisterhood of more than 350,000 predominately African-American, college educated women. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization's Five Point Programmatic Thrust:

    • Economic Development
    • Educational Development
    • International Awareness and Involvement
    • Physical and Mental Health
    • Political Awareness and Involvement

    We are happy to announce we are awarding our first scholarship(s) to deserving high school seniors who have plans on continuing their education:

    • The Distinguished Scholar Fortitude Award
    • The President’s Scholarship
    • The Book Award

    Our scholarships honor the legacy of our Founders by empowering Black/African American women in their journey toward higher education. Award amounts range from $400-$1,000. 

    We want to support you in your educational goals and we look forward to receiving your application.

  • APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

    To be eligible, the applicant must:
    - Identify as a Black/African American female
    - Be a high school senior
    - Be a Colorado resident and attend a high school in Boulder, Broomfield, Larimer or Weld counties.
    - Have at least a 3.0 unweighted cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale
    - Have plans to continue their education at a two- or four-year college or university, or an accredited technical school in Fall 2026.

    Scholarships will be awarded based upon:
    - Academic excellence
    - Community service
    - Leadership experience
    - Strength of essay
    - Personal interview
    - Overall strength of application

    All applications should include the following documents:
    - Official transcript
    - Resume
    - One letter of recommendation
    - Essay

    The applicant will provide evidence of these qualities through submission of a completed application, relevant documents, and ultimately a personal interview. Scholarships will be disbursed directly to the applicant to support her associated educational expenses once evidence of enrollment is supplied.

    Dependents of members of  Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., are not eligible to apply for or receive these scholarships.

    The completed application must be submitted by 11:59PM on, December 20, 2025.  Please ensure ALL contact information is accurate.
