• Call for Art: "Artists at Work"

    An open call highlighting the role of artists as workers and community members. While we often implicitly define success within the arts as being able to create artwork full time, this is not the reality for 99.99% of artists. The vast majority of artists work outside their practice to support themselves and their communities. This show is about proudly identifying ourselves as artists and working people & respecting the whole of our labor.

  • Each artists will be asked to submit 2 pieces/objects,
    The first: a piece from their artistic practice that they feel best represents their work. The second: an object/item/image that represents the work they do outside of their artwork to support themselves/ their families.

    For example: If you draw and work at a restaurant, you could submit (1) a recent drawing, and (2)a shift shirt or menu from your place of workOur goal is to share the reality of artists as workers and community members- and combat the mythology and individualist isolation in the arts.

    This will be our May Exhibition 
    Applications are open 3/5-4/5
    Artists will be notified 4/10

    The opening date is being negoiated with our parking lot- but we plan on opening the first week of May.

    Please note when pricing items that there is a 28% commission that our gallery charges on any sales. If you do not wish to list your work for sale please indicate N/A in sales box.

    This should be an object, image, or artifact that represents your work outside of your art practice. Examples could include: a menu from your restaurant role, a lesson plan from your classroom, a handbook from your office job, a shirt you are required to wear for a gig etc.

    Our Gallery is a nonprofit with a limited budget, every dollar goes to helping us keep our space welcoming and comfortable for all people. A donation is not required and will have no bearing on your artwork's acceptance into the show.
