BWF Melon Voice Singing Competition Registration Form

1. Melon Voice: Singing Competition will take place over a 3 day period: 1 preliminary round conducted on May 21, Top 10 round on May 22, and a final round on May 23. 5 finalists will be selected from the Top 10 round by a panel of judges. Each of the 10 finalists will be awarded a Watermelon Festival Metal. Top 5 will compete during the final round on May 23, 2026. Winner will be our headlining performer on June 28 at the Watermelon Growers Event! 2. Only solo performers are eligible. It is free to enter. Previously recorded artists are not eligible to compete. Contestants must live within a 100 mile radius of DeRidder, LA. 3. Contestants must be 12 years of age or older to participate and must be present to win. 4. Contestants must complete the online entry form and sign agreeing to all contest rules. Each contestant must submit the song & artist to the musical director with the online application for Thursday & Friday nights performances. Pre-Recorded music will be provided. (Top 10 will be selected for Friday night.) 5. Contestants will compete in the order with which their online entries are received. Acceptance of online entries will be through Friday, May 15. 6. Once the song has begun you must start singing. You cannot request the song to be restarted. Each contestant is allowed to bring 1 acoustic instrument to perform with. 7. There will be three judges each night. Judges may vary throughout the duration of the competition. The judges’ decisions are final. 8. Contestants will be judged on a scale of 1 to 10 for vocals, stage presence, artist appeal, and audience impact to receive an overall performance score. 9. At the Preliminary Round on May 21, contestants must sing the one song they pre-submitted with their online registration form. Please arrive before 6:30 PM on Thursday, May 21. Check in at the Beaufair Castle behind the Outdoor Pavilion at the Beauregard Parish Fairgrounds. Please enter through the West Drive gate across from the Missing Sock. Top 10 contestants will be announced at the end of Thursday night’s competition. 10. Round 2 will be on Friday, May 22 at 5:00 PM. Please arrive by 4:30 to the Beaufair Castle to check-in. Top 5 contestants will be announced at the end of Friday night’s competition. Top 5 Contestants should be prepared to submit their Saturday night song selection before they leave on Friday night. 11. Final Round will be on Saturday, May 23 at 5:00 PM. Top 5 Contestants should arrive by 4:30 to the Beaufair Castle to check-in. Each contestant will be awarded a Top 5-Award. Only 1 Melon Voice winner will be crowned at 5:45 PM.11. Rules and regulations of this competition are subject to change without notice.
