The Midnight Sun Council volunteer Board started its annual fundraising campaign to raise funds to support our Scouts' programs. This year's theme honors the famous 1925 serum run from Nenana to Nome and YOU can be part of it. The Board is set up in four sled teams each named after a famous sled dog.
Balto - The dog who was credited for leading the final leg into Nome
Togo - The dog who ran the most dangerous leg of the run
Fox - According to Leonhard Seppala, was the real leader of the team
Granite - Not part of the serum run, but was Susan Butcher's greatest lead dog
You can pick a team to support by clicking the team name below. Donations of $100 or more will be sent the attached patch of an Alaskan Malamute, but any amount is welcome. Make sure you enter your contact information on the form.
Each team's goal is $15,000.
Each team started in Fairbanks and headed to Nome via Nenana. Teams current progress along the trail:
Balto is near the Monderosa Restaurant (close to raising $2,500 raised)
Granite is somewhere in the Nowitna National Wildlife Refuge (shy of $7,000 raised)
Togo and Fox are between Nulato and Kaltag (just shy of $7,500 raised for each)
Please help them get to Nome (Total of $15,000 raised for each team)
