Terms of Service and User Agreement
Central Connecticut Pressure Washing (CCPW)
Soft washing and pressure washing, while effective, carry inherent risks due to the nature of water pressure, chemical use, and surface variability. These Terms of Service are in place to acknowledge those risks. While issues arising from the items outlined in our Terms of Service are uncommon, they are clearly stated to ensure transparency, allow for clear communication, and give us the opportunity to address any concerns in advance—helping to minimize the potential for damage and ensure the best outcome for your property. Please review these terms carefully and contact us with any questions or concerns prior to your scheduled service.
1. Siding Condition Disclaimer
- General Notice
Vinyl and aluminum siding naturally undergo oxidation (commonly called chalking) and color fading over time, especially with prolonged sun exposure. Our standard house washing procedures may temporarily disturb these oxidized layers, resulting in streaks, blotches, or uneven coloration. These effects are usually temporary and tend to fade naturally after a few rainfalls.
- Specific Risks to Aluminum Siding
Aluminum siding, being softer and more susceptible to age-related wear, may also exhibit surface imperfections such as etching or light scarring. While CCPW takes all reasonable precautions, we are not responsible for any pre-existing conditions or damage related to oxidation unless a separate removal or restoration contract has been agreed upon.
- Oxidation Disturbance and Appearance of Blemishes
During cleaning (soft or power washing), oxidized surfaces may show increased visibility of streaking, patchiness, or uneven color due to disturbance of the oxidation layer. This is an inherent risk of cleaning oxidized siding and does not indicate damage caused by improper cleaning.
- Customer Acknowledgment
By proceeding with our services, the customer acknowledges and accepts these risks, including the potential for blemishes and the limitations / risks associated with cleaning oxidized siding.
2. Landscaping & Vegetation
Important Notice: Potential Impact to Landscaping and Vegetation
Please be advised that landscaping and vegetation may be affected by the cleaning agents used during our services. In certain instances, despite all reasonable precautions, damage may still occur due to the proximity of plants to treated areas or as a result of weather conditions.
CCPW may take preventative measures—such as pre-wetting or covering nearby vegetation—however, exposure to cleaning solutions or runoff can still impact plant material during or after service. Environmental factors beyond our control may increase the likelihood of such damage.
By proceeding with service, the customer authorizes CCPW to use sodium hypochlorite and any other necessary cleaning agents, and acknowledges that CCPW is not responsible for repairing or replacing any affected landscaping or vegetation. The customer assumes full responsibility and liability for any such damage.
3. Gutter Oxidation & Black Streaking
Gutter oxidation and/or black streaking cannot be removed through standard house washing. A separate treatment is required. If gutter oxidation or streaking removal is performed, there is a possibility it may disturb pre-existing siding oxidation. In such cases, customer agrees CCPW is not liable for resulting discoloration or blemishes unless previously contracted to address it.
Note: When removing oxidation from aluminum siding or gutters, paint may peel or fade, exposing bare metal. CCPW is not responsible for repainting or replacing affected surfaces.
4. Non-Organic Stains, Fungus, & Vines
Artillery fungus, creeping vines, rust, oil, and other non-organic stains are not removed through our standard cleaning process. These require specialized treatment and must be contracted separately.
Customer agrees CCPW is not responsible for the removal of such stains unless explicitly included in the service agreement.
5. Water Spigot / Stillcock & Well Systems
All water spigots and stillcocks must be in working condition prior to service. Damage caused by normal use (attaching hoses, turning water on/off) is the customer’s responsibility. CCPW is not liable for interior or exterior water damage resulting from faulty spigots or stillcocks.
For properties utilizing well water systems, the customer acknowledges and agrees that CCPW is not responsible for any damage or issues resulting from prolonged pump usage or any impact on the well system. This includes, but is not limited to, damage to well pumps, hardware, or associated electrical components. CCPW will not repair or replace any part of the well system affected during or after service.
6. Windows: Cleaning, Condition, & Limitations
Please be aware of the following conditions and limitations related to window cleaning services:
- Window Spotting: Hard water, pollen, or dust may settle on wet glass and cause spotting. These spots are not part of the standard cleaning service and will not be removed unless specifically included in the service agreement.
- Window Fogging: Fogging can occur due to damaged or broken window seals. This is typically a result of pre-existing seal failure and often resolves naturally as the window dries. CCPW is not responsible for fogging or any issues related to failed window seals.
- Oxidation on Frames: Aluminum and vinyl window frames and flashing can oxidize over time. During cleaning, this oxidation may streak onto the glass. CCPW is not responsible for oxidation or its removal unless expressly agreed upon in writing prior to service.
- Window Damage: CCPW is not liable for any damage to windows that may occur during cleaning. This includes, but is not limited to, cracking, breaking, or other damage resulting from the condition, age, installation, or material of the window. Pre-existing or unnoticed defects—such as weakened seals, stress cracks, or compromised frames—may be aggravated during cleaning. CCPW is not responsible for any damage to glass, frames, hardware, or other window components that occurs during or after the cleaning process.
7. Water Intrusion & Property Protection
Customer agrees CCPW is not liable for water intrusion or resulting damage, including but not limited to leaks from structural cracks, gaps, open windows, doors, vents, or poor seals.
Customer is responsible for protecting or removing all personal property—indoors and outdoors—near cleaning areas. CCPW is not responsible for any damage to items left in or around the service area unless due to gross negligence.
8. Electrical Systems & Devices
Please notify us in advance about non-GFCI outlets, security equipment, or other sensitive electrical systems. We are happy to cover or avoid them at no extra charge.
Note: In some cases, we may recommend shutting off breakers to exterior outlets—please let us know if you need assistance.
CCPW is not liable for any electrical, cable, Wi-Fi, or device malfunctions resulting from the cleaning process unless due to gross negligence. This includes outlets, doorbells, cameras, garage openers, lights, or other connected devices.
9. Exterior Surfaces, Painted Finishes, & Wood Restoration
CCPW is not responsible for damage to any exterior surfaces including: paint, siding, trim, shingles, wood, vinyl, glass, window screens, soffits, gutters, shutters, concrete, brick, and asphalt unless due to gross negligence.
Paints containing organic pigments may discolor or fade when exposed to cleaning agents such as sodium hypochlorite or other solutions used during our service. If you have any concerns about potential discoloration, please inform us prior to service. Upon request, CCPW can perform a small test spot to assess any potential reaction before proceeding with the full cleaning.
CCPW does not guarantee final appearance and is not responsible for unexpected changes in texture, tone, or color to siding, surfaces, hardscapes, or wood. The customer assumes full responsibility and liability for any such damage or apperance changes.
10. Driveways & Other Hardscaping
During the cleaning process, cleaning solutions and dirt runoff containing bleach or other chemicals may come into contact with driveways, walkways, or adjacent surfaces including pool' due to runoff. While we take careful precautions to minimize and manage any runoff—including pre-wetting surfaces, using controlled application methods, and rinsing thoroughly—we cannot guarantee that staining, discoloration, or surface changes will not occur, particularly on newly paved driveways or fresh concrete and that runoff will not enter any adjacent pools.
By proceeding with the service, the customer acknowledges this risk and understands that CCPW is not responsible for any damage related to chemical runoff or pool cleaning unless otherwise specified in writing.
By scheduling service, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.
