Welcome
Thank you for your interest in becoming a VietRISE member!
Please complete the information below to help us understand your background, interests, and readiness to participate in our organizing work. Responses will be reviewed by VietRISE staff as part of the membership selection process and will remain confidential.
Why Membership Exists
VietRISE is a community organizing organization rooted in Little Saigon and Orange County. Our work builds collective power among working-class Vietnamese and immigrant communities to change the conditions shaping our lives — including deportation, displacement, economic inequality, and political exclusion.
Membership is for people who want to actively participate in this long-term organizing work. It is not simply an affiliation or social network. Members organize together, develop political leadership, and help build campaigns led by our community that create lasting change.
Our Political Direction
VietRISE organizes around a political vision developed through years of community organizing and collective struggle. By applying for membership, you are choosing to participate in a shared political project grounded in these commitments.
Our work includes organizing toward:
- Ending deportation systems and working toward the abolition of ICE
- Protecting immigrant communities from criminalization and detention
- Housing stability and tenant power
- Economic justice for working-class communities
- Multiracial solidarity and collective liberation
- Community self-determination and grassroots democracy
These commitments guide our campaigns, programs, and public positions.
What Membership Means
You are not expected to arrive with extensive organizing experience or fully developed political views.
Membership does mean you are willing to:
- Organize in alignment with VietRISE’s political direction
- Participate in political education and leadership development
- Engage respectfully in collective discussion and growth
- Support campaigns and actions that advance our shared goals
We value curiosity, accountability, and a willingness to learn alongside others.
