  • About the Games

    The George Hermann Western Illinois Senior Games cordially invites you to participate in the 44th Annual Senior Games to be held in Macomb, Illinois, on Friday, April 24, and Saturday, April 25, 2026. George Hermann founded the Western Illinois Senior Games in the Fall of 1980, organized the first regional games in the Spring of 1981, and served as the state coordinator for the Illinois Regional Senior Games for 23 years. George assisted with and participated in the Western Illinois Senior Games every chance he could and will be fondly missed at the games. WIU and the Senior Games committee renamed the games in his honor in 2018.

    Please read this form carefully and be aware that in signing up and participating in the George Hermann Western Illinois Senior Games, you will be waiving and releasing all claims for injuries you might sustain arising out of your participation in this competition.


    George Hermann Western Illinois Senior Olympics


    As a participant in the George Hermann Western Illinois Senior Games, I recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks of physical injury and I agree to assume the full risk of any injuries (including death), damages or loss which I may sustain as a result of participating in any and all activities connected with or associated with such competition.


    I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, agree to waive and relinquish all claims I may have as a result of participating in the competition against the George Hermann Western Illinois Senior Olympic Board, officials, volunteers, and sponsors at all participating sites, the Board of Trustees of Western Illinois University, its officers, agents, servants, and employees from any and all claims from injuries (including death), damages or loss which I may have or which may accrue to me on account of participating in the competition.


    I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless and deem the George Hermann Western Illinois Senior Olympics Committee, officials, volunteers, and sponsors at all participating sites, the Board of Trustees of Western Illinois University, its officers, agents, servants, and employees from any and all claims resulting from injuries (including death), damages, and losses sustained by me or arising out of, connected with, or anyway associated with the activities of the program.

  • MEDICAL CONSENT

    In the event of an emergency, I authorize George Hermann Western Illinois Senior Olympics officials and Western Illinois University officials to secure from any licensed hospital, physicians and/or medical personnel any treatment deemed necessary for my immediate care and agree that I will be responsible for payment of any and all medical services rendered.

    I have read and fully understand the above documents concerning the waiver and release of all claims and permission to secure treatment.

    licensees, and legal representatives the irrevocable right to use my name (or any fictional name), photograph, and/or video image in all forms and media (including the Internet) by Western Illinois University, and I waive any right to inspect or approve the finished version(s), including written copy that may be created in connection therewith. I have read this release and am fully familiar with its contents.

  • Golf

    Harry Massato Golf Course at 8:00 a.m. (Green Fees and Cart - $30, payable at course)
  • 65+ Pickleball (50-64 can be found below under Saturday events)

    65+ year olds -Doubles/Mixed at 400 East Calhoun St., Macomb at 11:00 a.m.: This event registration is available on a first come, first served basis. Due to limited court availability, a cap of eight team entries per Division/Age Group will be accepted. Entries received after the cap has been reached will be placed on a wait list and notified of their status. Entry fees for teams not accepted will be returned.
  • Swimming

    Meet at YMCA Pool, 1:00 p.m.: Swimming at YMCA Pool: located at 400 East Calhoun St., Macomb (warm-up at 12:30 p.m.)
  • Bowling 

    Digger's College City Bowl at 3:30 p.m. (Fees: Game $5.00 & Shoes $1.00, paid at lanes)
  • Corn Hole/Bags

    Mac Gym in the Student Recreation Center at 4:30 p.m.

    North end of Hanson Field from 8:15 a.m. threw 10:15 a.m.
  • Student Recreation Center Events

    Donald S. Spencer Student Recreation Center at 10:00 a.m.
  • Brophy Hall Events

    10:00 a.m.
  • Track Events ***

    Hansen Field at 11:15 a.m.
  • Disc Golf

    Spilot Memorial Disc Golf Course (620 West Adams Street) at 1:00 p.m.
  • We reserve the right to move locations for outdoor events due to inclement weather to Western Hall.

    * Pickleball doubles teams will be entered in the younger player’s age category. This is a recreational Pickleball event. Participants will play a Round Robin format, rally-scoring to 15.

    ** High Jump and Softball Throw will take place on Hanson Field, inside track.
