Dear Applicant,
Thank you for your interest in a seasonal program staff position at Georgia Lions Camp, Inc. We welcome compassionate, dependable individuals who are committed to creating a safe, empowering, and engaging camp experience for children, teens, and adults with visual impairments.
Georgia Lions Camp provides multiple residential summer sessions, including Family Camp, youth and teen sessions, and two adult sessions (Legacy Camp and Camp Connections). As a residential camp, all program staff are required to live on campus during the season and remain on campus throughout active camp sessions.
Counselors arrive on June 5, 2026, with mandatory Pre-Camp Training running from June 6–16. Summer sessions begin June 17 and conclude July 19, followed by camp cleanup on July 20–21. Counselors depart on July 22, 2026. Staff should be prepared for long, active days in a highly team-oriented environment. Breaks are scheduled throughout the day, and time off is provided between sessions.
The counselors who thrive at Georgia Lions Camp are patient, adaptable, and positive leaders. They are comfortable working outdoors, assisting campers with daily living tasks when necessary, and collaborating closely with fellow staff members. Camp is joyful and deeply rewarding work, but it also requires emotional maturity, flexibility, and a strong work ethic.
The application includes a general application form, a page for two professional references, and a Disclosure Statement. References should be teachers, supervisors, employers, pastors, or professional colleagues who can speak to your character and work performance. Family members or personal friends may not be used, as this will delay processing. Once we receive your application, your references will be contacted electronically. We may also contact previous employers.
The safety of our campers and staff is our highest priority. All staff must complete required background checks and the Disclosure Statement prior to employment. Any history involving crimes of violence or misconduct toward minors will be carefully reviewed and may disqualify an applicant.
Please take time to thoughtfully complete all application questions. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you again for your interest in the Georgia Lions Camp Program. We look forward to receiving your completed application.
With appreciation,
