Rehearsal will be normally held on that Friday prior to the quince date at 4:30 PM. Only the parent(s) and quinceañera are needed at the rehearsal.

On Saturday, the Quinceañera is required to be at the church 30 minutes before the scheduled starting time and ready to begin precisely at the scheduled starting time.

Rice, birdseed, and confetti, rose petals, sparklers, doves, etc. are prohibited in and outside of the church for safety and liability reasons.

At the ceremony, only the Quinceañera and her parents are in the procession.

The members of the “court” may be present, but they have no part in the ceremony. They need to be advised beforehand about proper behavior and dress attire in church.

    Photography and Videography

Our church is a sacred space, consecrated for the celebration of sacraments, worship, and prayer. Photographers and videographers hired for quince celebrations in the church are required to conduct themselves accordingly, in a reverent and respectful manner.

Photographers and videographers should arrive at the church in at least 30 minutes.

Photographers and videographers are ABSOLUTELY PROHIBITED from entering the sanctuary area during the Mass of Thanksgiving for quince. Photographers and videographers are ABSOLUTELY PROHIBITED from going up into the choir loft of the church at any time. Rule of thumb: If you must step up to go somewhere, you are not supposed to be there.

Photographers and videographers are NEVER to stop the flow and forward movement of the processional or recessional to set up or pose a photo.

Photographers and videographers should ALWAYS make themselves as inconspicuous as possible. This means minimizing movement during the mass ceremony so as not to distract those in attendance from the prayer and worship.

Posed, post-ceremony photographs may be taken in the church but must be completed 15 minutes after the completion of the ceremony. Posed photographs may be taken anytime outside of the church. Remember, you are in the church, so please be quiet and reverent.

The use of flashbulbs, umbrellas, or any other bright lights is prohibited during the ceremony.

    Glitter:

We ask that you refrain from using glitter on the dress, etc. Glitter is hard to get out of the carpet and the pews. You will be charged a $100 cleaning fee.

  • Gifts for the Quincenera

Fresh Bouquet of Flowers: The Quinceanera presents a bouquet of fresh flowers as an offering to the Virgin Mary. (Provided by the family: traditionally the grandparents)

Ring: The Quinceanera is often given the gift of a ring during her ceremony, which symbolizes the infinite love of God. This is sometimes gifted to her by her Sponsor for Confirmation or Godparents from Baptism

Bible and Rosary: These are both symbols of the Quinceanera faith. (parents or a sponsor)

The crowning of the Quinceañera: the tiara represents how God (the King) sees the Quinceanera as his daughter, making her a princess. Placed prior to the Mass, and this is optional. (Not a crown)
