ADULT 2-Hour/1-Hour Pinch Pot Sea Glass Workshop 6/12 and 6/26, 530-730 PM-LILLI

We’ll start with a brief introduction to clay handling and the pinch pot technique, focusing on forming, compressing, and shaping your vessel for both strength and aesthetics. You’ll then learn how to thoughtfully incorporate texture and design into your piece, considering placement, depth, and how the design will interact with glaze and allow for visibility of your sea glass.

Participants will:

• Create one pinch pot.

• Learn proper clay compression to prevent cracking

• Explore simple surface design and finishing techniques

No prior experience is necessary—this workshop is ideal for complete beginners as well as those looking to loosen up their practice and reconnect with hand-building fundamentals.

Clay, glaze, firing included.

You can bring your own sea glass, or purchase on site for a small fee.

You will return in two weeks and in the interim your piece will have been bisque fired and coated with a clear glaze.You can then place your selected sea glass in your pot and then the piece will be kiln-fired, ready for pickup in approximately 2–3 weeks.

Come get your hands dirty and leave with something uniquely yours—each piece creating a space for a little mother nature and the sea shore inside your home.

6 week beginners TO intermediate wheel class, begnners welcome but more experienced students are also welcome to come improve skills and technique. Small intimate class size of 5 students will allow for more individualized instruction. Each 3 hours class will include a short educational component and demo. Unfortunately, NO refunds. Missed classes can be substituted for 3 hour open studio for a maximum of one missed class. 25 pounds of white stoneware clay included with class. Maximum use of 50 pounds of white stoneware clay during the six week course. Additional 182 white stoneware clay available for purchase. Students will receive a personal storage shelf during the course and following the course will be responsible for disposing of unused clay unless they are continuing for another session. Returning students have the space to practice and refine their existing skills, while the instructor introduces foundational techniques — pinch pots, coil building, and slab construction — for those newer to clay. Each session builds on the last, with personalized guidance ensuring every student is both supported and challenged. Whether you’re picking up clay for the first time or continuing a creative practice, you’ll leave each week inspired and finish the course with handbuilt pieces you’re proud of. Each 3 hours class will include a short educational and review component as well as demo.
