We think you will be pleased with the accommodations which are much nicer than previous trips to D.C. The distance to the Hill is only 1.5 miles and there is a public bus available. The following meals will be available at the Cafeteria on Gallaudet campus: Breakfasts on June 10, 11, 12 and lunch on June 10 (the day the mini-conference will be held there). Participants can have dinner there also at their own expense. There are also many restaurant options within walking distance. To learn more about restaurants in nearby Union market, visit: https://unionmarketdc.com/ Last year NCMHR had a successful advocacy trip to D.C. where we met with the staff from congressional offices from many different states. We are planning for a possibly larger group this year. NOTE: NCMHR is not planning an Alternatives conference at this time; yet we have set up an exploratory committee for a potential conference in 2026.
