    Charles Herbert Flowers Foundation STEM Scholarship

     

    The Charles Herbert Flowers Foundation (CHFFINC) STEM Scholarship supports graduating high school seniors who plan to pursue an associate or bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university.

     

    This scholarship is designed to expand access to STEM education for students who demonstrate strong academic achievement and financial need, particularly those who have experienced educational or economic barriers to accessing STEM opportunities. 

     

    Eligibility Requirements:

     

    Applicants must:


    Be a North Carolina resident.
    Be a graduating high school senior.
    Have a minimum unweighted cumulative GPA of 3.2.
    Plan to enroll full-time in a STEM major at an accredited two or four-year college or university.
    Submit the most recent high school transcript(s).
    Provide proof of acceptance to a two-year or four-year college or university in a STEM discipline.
    Demonstrate financial need, as outlined in the application.

    (Please have your recommender email letter to: Scholarships@chffinc.org

    ** Letter must be signed with a "wet" signature. E-signatures will not be accepted.

    Awards

    Two (2)  $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to recipients attending a 4-year degree program.

    Two (2)  $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students attending a two-year degree programs.

     

    Priority Consideration: 

    In alignment with its charitable mission, CHFFINC gives priority consideration to students who have experienced educational or economic barriers to pursuing STEM pathways. This may include:


    First-generation college students
    Students from low-income households
    Students attending under-resourced or Title I schools
    Students from rural or economically distressed communities
    Students with limited access to advanced STEM coursework, mentorship, or enrichment opportunities. 

     

    Students pursuing degrees in the following STEM fields are especially encouraged to apply:

     
    Aviation/Aerospace science
    Engineering
    Biomedical Sciences
    Agricultural Science
    Computer Science
