  • 1040/1041 - Individual/ Estates and Trusts Extension Request Form - 2025

The filing deadline for Form 1040 Individual Tax Returns is April 15.  If you cannot file your return by April 15, you can request a 6 month extenstion of time to file, which will give you until October 15 to file.

If April 15 or 16 falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the deadline may be moved out to April 17 or 18.

    3. Via the IRS and/or state website payment pages

    Business and Fiduciary Extensions

The filing deadline for a return depends upon the type of entity that is filing. Regardless of which kind of entity is filing, all extensions must be filed with IRS, states and cities by the original due date of the return.
