2025 City of Versailles Fourth of July Parade Rules & Indemnity
• All floats and trailers accompanies by people or animals must have adults (18+) walking each side or on float.
• Children may not be placed onto a float or truck or any vehicle during the parade unless there is an emergency.
• Children may not be removed from a float while it is in motion.
• No person riding on a float may disembark until the parade is completely over.
• Children riding in the back of pick-up trucks must sit behind the truck's rails or sides at all times.
• Trucks must have closed tailgates or enclosed backs.
• Each pulled entry must have a spotter in the cab other than the driver. That person will monitor the back to inform the driver if there is a problem. If an entry has no cab, the spotter must be beside the entry. No passengers or riders are allowed on farm machinery, other than the operator.
• Entry drivers must have a valid driver's license and liability insurance. Float drivers must be 18 or older. Any motorized vehicle (including motorcycles) entered in the parade must be driven by llicensed drivers only.
• No parade participant may ride with feet hanging over the side of the entry.
• No parade participant will be allowed to have a loaded firearm at any time.
• There is no political affiliation of any kind allowed on any floats or trailers.
• Please do not have a Santa Claus on your float or trailer. The City wil have one and we do not want to confuse any children.
• Entries must maintan steady movement, with 20 to 30 feet between each entry.
• Entries experiencing difficulty must move to the side of the street so others may pass.
• NO CANDY OR TREATS MAY BE THROWN FROM ANY FLOAT.
PARADE FINISH
Once you are instructed to proceed past the Courthouse, you will continue down Main Street slowly and make a left turn at Morgan Street, where the parade route offcially ends.
