  • The Art of Science competition celebrates the aesthetics of research and explores the interconnected nature of science and art. An in-person exhibition showcasing the best submissions will take place on May 16th, 2025 in Huang foyer from 4-7PM. All members of the Stanford community are invited to submit, and multiple submissions are allowed.

Each submission must contain some scientific component, whether it be in the artwork or description. However, the focus of this competition is art, and thus the aesthetic rather than scientific quality of the image is key. Creativity and uniqueness will be considered favorably. Images produced in the process of performing research, such as photographs, micrographs, and simulation results, along with art inspired by science are gladly accepted. Monetary prizes will be awarded to to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners selected by the judges as well as a community favorite selected by exhibit attendees.
