Agha Engineering LLC is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mechanical Hydraulic Engineer to join our team in our growing Houston, Texas office.
As a Mechanical Hydraulic Engineer, you will be contributing to the design, optimization, and maintenance of pump stations in areas such as municipal water systems, wastewater, stormwater management systems, etc. In addition, you will be collaborating with both the transportation and water resources team to develop innovative solutions to optimize mechanical systems and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in the design and specification of pump station systems, including pumps, valves, and other associated mechanical equipment within engineering projects.

Collaborate with both transportation and water resources engineers to ensure seamless integration with drainage, stormwater, and transportation infrastructure.

Perform hydraulic and mechanical analysis of pump stations to optimize their operation and efficiency.

Develop system layouts and detailed design drawings, ensuring compliance with both industry standards and project specifications/requirements

Collaborate with the H&H engineers to ensure pump stations operate efficiently within the overall water flow and drainage system.

Contributes to hydraulic and mechanical modeling of pump stations, assisting in analyzing system performance and optimizing pump selection, efficiency, and operational costs.

Ensure that all systems are met by client requirements and installed according to design specifications, project goals, and comply with relevant regulations and standards.

Perform tests and adjustments to ensure systems meet performance and operational requirements.

Assist with troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair by recommending corrective actions or upgrades to maintain optimal performance and prevent system failure.

Prepare and maintain design documentation, technical reports, calculations and other supporting documentation.

Perform other duties as needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Strong or intermediate operating knowledge of MicroStation / Open Roads Designer (ORD).
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

BS degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

Passed the FE exam and obtained Engineer in Training certificate or looking to take and pass FE exam within 6 months of starting employment.

2+ years of mechanical or other engineering experience
