  • The Power of Her Scholarship is available to any woman coach, whether she's just starting her journey or a seasoned veteran, who is eager to elevate her leadership and career development skills and gain valuable insights to growth and advancement. 

    This is open to coaches with aspirations to train adult or junior-level players at grassroots programs, high schools, or high-performance levels. Our goal is to create more opportunities for women aged 18 and above, fostering a love for coaching and providing access to developmental opportunities, regardless of financial means. 

    The Scholarship is for $250 to be applied to a professional development opportunity focused on enhancing tennis coaching skills. We are awarding 10 scholarships at this time.

    Eligibility Requirements:

    - Applicant must reside within the USTA New England Section. 
    - Have a USTA coaching profile or create a coaching profile on USTA.com.
    - Must be Safe Play compliant or willing to become Safe Play compliant.
    - Submit a completed application form with a personal statement.
    - Agree to complete a brief impact report after using the funding.

    The funds can be utilized for a diverse range of programs, including but not limited to:

    - ESPNW Summit
    - Higher Education Women’s Programs
    - Professional Tennis Registry Programming
    - Racquet Sports Professionals Association Programming
    - Sports Business Journal Game Changers Conference
    - Tucker Center Women Coaches Symposium
    - USTA New England Play Facilitator Workshop
    - WeCoach Programs
    - Women's Tennis Coaching Association Women’s Program

    Personal Letter: Write a one-page, typed letter addressed to USTA New England that answers and describes the following:

    -What motivates you about being approved to receive the The Power of Her: Professional Development Fund?
    -What achievements make you an exceptional candidate for the scholarship?
    -What community perspective or interest would you represent on the USTA New England Youth Tennis Council? (For instance, I am interested in inclusion and particular experiences, and I am a lifelong tennis player, multisport athlete, etc.)
    -Give an example of a project or effort you have been involved in to create positive change within your community (it can also be within or outside your tennis community). Please describe the outcome of the project.
