    Week 1: July 13–17
    Week 2: July 20–24

Please indicate below which week you prefer. While we will do our best to accommodate your selection, week placement cannot be guaranteed. Each cadet may attend only one week. Cadets who attended last year are welcome to register; however, preference will be given to first-time cadets. Cadets are expected to attend all five days of the academy unless prior arrangements are made. Parents/guardians are responsible for daily transportation to and from Medford High School.

    Program Hours:
    8:00 AM – 2:00 PM daily

    Location:
    Medford High School
    489 Winthrop Street
    Medford, MA 02155

Cadets MUST be Medford residents and entering middle school (grades 6–8) in Fall 2026. If your child does not attend Medford Public Schools, please email jwalsh@medfordpolice.com as additional documentation is required.

Academy uniforms, consisting of a t-shirt and hat, will be provided by the department and must be worn at all times during the academy. Cadets are required to provide their own shorts or pants (navy blue or black) and athletic footwear. Boots, Crocs, and flip-flops are not permitted.

Throughout the week, cadets will participate in hands-on activities including physical training, patrol demonstrations, crime scene investigations, K9 demonstrations, team building exercises, and interactive presentations from Medford Police officers and specialty units.

Cadets must bring lunch each day, except Friday where lunch will be provided on graduation day. If you are unable to provide lunch, please email jwalsh@medfordpolice.com as soon as possible.

Additional information will be provided in a welcome email after registration.

Please complete this form in full and submit it as soon as possible, as spaces are limited. If this application is submitted after the program has reached capacity, your child will be placed on a waitlist, and you will be contacted with further instructions.

We want every cadet to have a fun, safe, and rewarding experience at the Medford Junior Police Academy. If your child requires reasonable accommodations, or if there is any additional information you would like us to know to better support them, please contact Officer Walsh at jwalsh@medfordpolice.com.
