Howdy future editor or advisor!
At Passport, we don't believe in the standard hiring song and dance where you tell us how detail-oriented you are and we pretend that matters. Instead, we want to see you actually edit and respond to real student situations you'll face on the job—wild concept, right?
Guidelines:
1. We're looking for a rough draft response to these questions. Don't worry about perfecting them; just show us your personality as succinctly as you can. As always, brevity is the soul of wit.
2. C'mon man, don't use AI. People pay Passport for human expertise, and while we use technology to supplement our work, it doesn't (yet) replace what we do.
There are two main reasons not to use AI: a) it actually doesn't do as well on the questions below as the best humans (in our tests, various models could only achieve a B+ grade, which won't be enough to get an interview), and b)if you're lucky enough to interview, we will ask you to briefly edit an essay while we wait, so let's not fake it here only to be found out later.
Once you complete the assignment, we'll be in touch about whether to interview. We're moving as fast as a high school senior with a last-minute deadline, so please do complete this as soon as you can.
May your commas be crisp and your sass ever on point,
The team at Passport Admissions
P.S. US and Canadian citizens only please (not because we discriminate, simply because of the overwhelming number of applicants, the difficult logistics of matching timezones, and the delicate art of American turns of phrase).
