ABOUT THE JUROR
TSG Member Orna Feinstein is an internationally recognized artist and world traveler. She earned a BFA in sculpture from the University of Houston, and a diploma in printmaking from the Glassell School of Art. Her work is inspired by the organic and geometric in nature. Her continuous investigation of the printing processes led her to create major sculptural installations, and monoprints that move beyond the flat surface of the paper. Her most notable innovative approach to printmaking resulted in 3D monoprints that create depth, as well as an illusion of optical movement.
Feinstein served as a juror for several exhibitions, including Wivla Membership Exhibition at the Museum of Printing History, Houston; The Art of Victor Vasarely at the Geometric and Madi Art in Dallas; and most recently Protege for the Art Museum of Southeast Texas in Beaumont.
Feinstein's work is represented in numerous private and public collections, among them Microsoft, Hilton USA, Fidelity, and Kendra Scott NY, as well as museums in Taiwan, Portugal, Denmark, and throughout Texas, including eight works in the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Arts Houston.
Feinstein's work has been included in many solo and group exhibitions around the world, including galleries, art centers, and museums. In 2014-2015 her retrospective exhibition Now and Zen - Fifteen Years of Contemporary Printmaking traveled to several museums in Texas. In 2018 she published her book Treetopia, celebrating and documenting 20 years of artworks on the theme of the tree trunk. The book includes many images, and a comprehensive essay by Dena M. Woodall, Associate Curator of Prints and Drawings at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston.
In 2023, Feinstein traveled to Antarctica, the North pole, and Patagonia. She created artworks on location and exhibited them on both poles, making her the first artist ever to do so. These artworks were shown at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas in Beaumont and will travel to other venues.
