  •  YOGA CLASS CONTACT

During our yoga camp, some activities and poses may involve light physical contact. This can include holding hands or touching feet in partner exercises or gentle guidance from instructors to support posture, alignment, and safety. Any physical contact will be limited to specific areas, such as the hands, arms, shoulders, back, knees, and feet.Your child’s comfort and consent are our top priorities. Our instructors will always ask your child if they would like assistance and will explain what they’re doing before offering support. Children are always encouraged to communicate their preferences, whether they’d like to participate in partner activities, choose an alternative, or simply observe. If you have any questions or specific concerns about physical contact in class, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We appreciate your feedback! Below, you'll find photos showing examples of these movements.

  • Informed Consent and Acknowledgement

  • We are excited to offer yoga classes designed specifically for young children. These classes provide a wonderful opportunity for your child to develop physical strength, flexibility, and mindfulness in a fun and engaging environment.

This course specifically requires that children have full mobility and will be in the company of many other children. Flexibility or strength are not required, but it is necessary for the children to be able to move their entire body while following the teacher's instructions attentively. We absolutely respect and value the unique strengths and needs of all children, and while this program may not be the ideal fit for children with special needs, we are more than happy to assist you in finding a program that better suits your child's individual needs. Our goal is to create an environment that is supportive and nurturing for all children, and we hope to provide the best experience possible. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need guidance on other options. Your child’s well-being is very important to us, and we are here to support you. For children with unique and individualized needs, we will be offering separate sessions to ensure every child receives the attention and support they deserve.

Enrolling your child in our yoga classes is a fantastic way to promote their overall well-being, foster new friendships, and instill healthy habits that will last a lifetime. We warmly invite you to join our inclusive and supportive community, and we can't wait to see your child thrive with us!

We will be practicing yoga inside the classroom. The classroom has a carpet, and it is optional to bring your own yoga mat. If your child does not have a yoga mat, we can lend them one. It is important to clean your yoga mat when you get home and bring it clean the next day. We clean the yoga mats after each class.

The yoga poses we will practice are very simple poses adapted so that children can perform them easily.

Although yoga is a very low-risk activity, it is still a sport. Before performing any poses, we will do warm-up exercises, including arm movements, light jogging, etc. Normally, during one of our yoga classes, children might accidentally bump into each other. We use proper distancing between each child to avoid these small accidents, which occur very infrequently. However, children's movements can sometimes be unpredictable, so from the first day, we teach the children to be careful with their movements.

This is another reason why we balance the groups; we work with small groups and have limited spots available.

We also ask both the children and their parents not to attempt any yoga poses at home without the supervision of the teacher. We make this request because at home, they may not do the proper warm-up exercises, and we want to avoid any injuries. It is important to discuss these preventive measures with your children.

If your child has any medical condition or illness, it is important that you consult with their doctor and ask if it is safe for your child to practice yoga, and let us know in advance. Additionally, we will request a letter from the doctor specifying that they give consent for your child to practice yoga.

During the yoga session, it may happen that the children perform certain poses or exercises together, in which they may hold hands or engage in other similar activities. These exercises are done with the sole purpose of creating a sense of community and belonging within the group, and it has been proven that they help cultivate the child’s self-esteem and self-confidence. These exercises, dynamics, and poses are performed in a respectful and careful manner (we have previously included photo examples of this type of respectful contact). The teacher emphasizes to the students the importance of being careful when holding hands with another classmate (for example). Additionally, the yoga instructors may make respectful and careful contact using their hands and may only touch your child's head, back, shoulders, hands, arms, elbows, knees, or feet during certain yoga poses. Additionally, our teachers always ask the child if they would like assistance and inform them of what & how we are going to do before doing it. This ensures that the child always feels in control and comfortable. Our teachers are trained to follow this protocol and respect the child’s requests. This is solely to assist them in performing the poses, to support them if necessary, and to prevent any accidents. If you prefer no physical contact, please specify this in the form and let us know in advance before the course begins.

We will be doing some recreational activities in the garden. The garden is fenced and is a safe area. However, like any garden, it has plants, grass, dirt, trees, and rocks. If your child has any allergies to plants, grass, or pollen, it is necessary to inform us in advance. If you believe that it is a risk for your child to be outside in the garden (whether because they are highly active, do not follow the teacher's instructions, or for any other reason), it is important that you let us know in advance. We want all the children to have a pleasant time and avoid any potential incidents or accidents as much as possible. If you prefer that your child does not go to the garden, please let us know in advance. In case of heavy rain, we will have lunch inside the classroom to avoid any risk of the children catching a cold.
