Monarch Bioenergy Scholarship Criteria
Introduction
Thank you for your interest in applying for the 2026 Monarch Bioenergy Scholarship. Monarch Bioenergy is a Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) company, who specializes in capturing and creating renewable natural gas from methane emissions found in normal farming practices. We use what’s naturally produced and convert it into a clean energy source making RNG good for the climate and the people.
Our scholarships are for outstanding Duplin County High School Seniors and can be used at any four-year private or public college/university, community college, or trade school. The scholarships are intended for students who wish to enter the clean energy or agricultural sector, but we encourage all areas of studies and majors to apply.
Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Areas of study would include, but are not limited to, engineering, agriculture, environmental, all sciences, finance, business, communications, and degrees associated with a trade.
Scholarship Amount and Frequency of Award
There are two $2,500 scholarships available to Duplin County High and Early-College High Schools. The scholarships are a one-time award in the amount of $2,500. The total amount of $2,500 will be given at the beginning of the student's first semester.
Proof of enrollment is required and should be sent to Terri Edwards, Community Engagement Liaison Officer, at terri@monarchbio.com.
Upon receipt, a check will be mailed or deposited into the student’s university, college, or trade school account.
2026 Application Deadline
All applicants must submit their applications by May 8, 2026.
How to Apply
The application process is completely online. We also recommend the applicant print a copy of his/her application for his/her record.
After Submission
The scholarship committee will review applications to determine award winners. Once winners are selected, the recipient will be notified of their scholarship award.
