Le Shaw Sexual Health Innovation Award

Description of Award: We are excited to offer two Sexual Health Innovation Awards that are sponsored by le Shaw, the International Sexual Health and Wellness Research Institute.

le Shaw advances research on sexuality, technology, and sexual well-being—with an emphasis on rigorous scientific research and exploration.

These awards are designed to recognize scholars in the field committed to these areas. Winners of these awards will receive a $500 honorarium and a $750 travel stipend to attend IASR in Portland, Maine.

One award will be given to a early career member (i.e., within 6 years of post graduation) and another will be given to a senior member (i.e., someone 6 or more years post graduation).

Winners may be asked to speak with le Shaw's scientifc writers for promotional materials.

Directions: For your application, in one page or less, please describe how your research program aligns with core values of le Shaw and IASR which are summarized below:

1. Advancing Scientific Research – le Shaw and IASR are dedicated rigorous scientific exploration in sexuality and wellness. This can also include areas such as sextech and sex work.

2. Knowledge Sharing & Collaboration – By engaging scientists, industry partners, policymakers, and the public, we all aim to foster collaboration to maximize the impact of research.

3. Ethics, Inclusion & Responsibility – le Shaw and IASR value ethical research practices, diversity, and sustainable development while driving social responsibility.

4. Transforming Research into Impact – Through strategic initiatives in science, knowledge transfer, and community services, le Shaw and IASR want to enhance sexual health, education, innovation, and overall well-being. The focus here is that science can improve people's lives and well-being and they are working to make their science accessible to community members.

Please note that recipients of Sexual Health Innovation Awards must register for the Annual Meeting. We intend to notify winners by the end of April. Candidates who are notified of their selection but do not register for the meeting by May 10 will not receive funding. All funding will be provided via reimbursement of covered expenses via PayPal after the conference takes place.
