    Farringtons Year 7 Registration Form

  • The Registration Form must be completed and submitted with the Registration Fee of a £120 before a child can be considered for a place in the School.  The Registration Fee is non-refundable. On acceptance of a place, parents are required to pay a deposit of £1000 (for Day Pupils) £500 of which is credited againt the first term's invoice.

    No further Registration Fee is required for transfer to other departments in the School i.e. Sixth Form.  Parents are liable for School Fees when a place has been accepted and an Acceptance Form is completed.

    The deposit is returned after the pupil leaves the School.  If a pupil accepts a place but does not join the School the deposit is retained and is non-refundable.

  • Scholarship and Bursary Interest

    Farringtons offers a number of scholarships, for Sports, Music and the Creative and Performing Arts. Academic Scholarships are also awarded on the basis of a candidate's performance in the Entrance Examination. We also offer bursarial support (but not full Bursaries) based on a means-tested assessment process. Please indicate your interest below:
  • Music Scholarships

    Candidates for 11+ Music Scholarships are expected to perform on at least two instruments. Candidates should be a minimum of Grade 4 on their first instrument and be able to show skill and technique in their second instrument.

    Once an application is received the Head of Music will assess their ability and eligibility, and successful candidates will be invited for an audition. This consists of a prepared piece and sight-reading on their first instrument, a prepared piece on their second instrument, and aural tests for musicianship. There will also be an interview with the Head, and the Head of Music.

    You must also attach a recommendation from your child's music teacher or other professionally qualified person. Music Scholars are expected to involve themselves fully in the musical life of the School and it is likely that they will study Music at GCSE Level.

  • Creative & Performing Arts Scholarships

    Candidates for 11+ Creative and Performing Arts Scholarships are expected to demonstrate all-round ability and commitment to Art, Drama, Singing or Dance. Students are asked to demonstrate their talent and ability by submiting a portfolio of work (for Art), LAMBDA or ESB exams (Drama), recorded eidence of performance abiity (for Drama/Dance), example of semi-professional or professional work eg. Youth Theatre, Youth Dance, local or west end performances or success at local, national or international competittions. Other evidence may be considered.

    Each candidate must submit a personal statement outlining their current involvement in the creative or performing arts. You must also attach a recommendation from your child's teacher, club or school. Once an application is received the Head of Creative Arts will assess their ability and eligibility, and successful candidates will be invited for an audition and/or interview.

    Please give details of the discipline that your child is involved in, plus details of any relevant clubs/schools/competitions.

  • Sports Scholarships

    Candidates for 11+ Sports Scholarships are expected to demonstrate all-round ability in a number of sports and be motivated to participate in school teams and compete regularly and enthusiastically for the school. 

    They must demonstrate a high level of fitness, as well as a particular ability in at least one of the core sports on the assessment day which includes football, netball, swimming and athletics.  Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that a candidate can be assessed in specialist sports that we do not offer or support as part of the curriculum, but do encourage specialist candidates to apply.

    At submission, each candidate must submit a personal statement outllining their current sporting endeavours and achievements, detailing the level that they are playing for each sport eg. school or regional team, county level qualification etc. 

    You must also attach a recommendation/reference from your child's coach, club or school.  Once an application is received, the Head of Sport will assessment their ability and eligibility, and successful candidates will be invited for an assessment morning. 

    During this session the Head of Sport will choose a shortlist of candidates who will be invited back for interview and they will be expected to show evidence of their abiity and commitment to fulfil the role of a Sports Scholar.
