The City of Albuquerque Department of Arts & Culture and THE OFFICE Performing Arts + Film are excited to announce an open call for artists to apply to Artists At Work (AAW), a national workforce resilience program designed to support artists and their communities through artistic civic engagement.
This new opportunity will provide salaried employment for four artists for an 18 month term (June 1, 2025 - November 30, 2026) to support them in their artistic practice and in working collaboratively with community members and organizational partners to address local needs in Albuquerque.
Our themes are: Dreams, Grief and Community Identity especially in the context of migration, immigration, houselessness, resilience, and place.
We are asking: How are artists/creatives increasing their own resilience as they continue to make work that supports community resilience? What does being in community mean? What do we need right now to make us stronger?
We are focused on: From a planning, municipal development, public resource/access perspective: How can creative practices and public spaces support dreaming forward, healing from collective/individual grief, and strengthening community connections/individual identity.
For more infomation about the program and details about this opportunity, please see our AAW Albuquerque 2025 Info Packet.
To better understand the criteria that will be used to inform our selection process, applicants may review the evaluation rubric.
