Mission & Purpose
The Young Professionals Group (YPG) supports the mission of Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center through networking, fundraising, volunteerism, and advocacy. Members serve as ambassadors, raising awareness and contributing to the organization's success.
Membership Eligibility & Commitment
To be eligible for YPG membership, individuals must:
- Be between the ages of 21-40.
- Live or work in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
- Commit to a two-year membership term, with an option to renew.
- Complete an annual membership review to confirm engagement and future involvement.
Membership Renewal Process
- Members will receive a Commitment Renewal Form at the end of their two-year term.
- Members in good standing (meeting participation requirements) will be automatically renewed unless they opt out.
- Members who do not meet engagement requirements may reapply for membership.
Participation Requirements
To remain an active YPG member, individuals must:
- Regularly attend YPG meetings. YPG will meet approximately every other month. Members may miss no more than two (2) meetings per year.
- Attend at least two (2) events per year (e.g., networking, fundraising, volunteer projects).
- Complete 10 volunteer hours per year in support of Mission Kids.
- Recruit at least one (1) new YPG member, donor, sponsor, or volunteer per year.
Fundraising Expectations
YPG members are expected to contribute to Mission Kids’ fundraising efforts. Members can meet this expectation through one or more of the following:
- Making a personal donation ($100 suggested annual donation).
- Securing a sponsorship for a Mission Kids event.
- Hosting or co-hosting a fundraising event (e.g., happy hour, small gathering, or online fundraiser).
- Soliciting or providing an in-kind donation (e.g., needed items for Mission Kids programs).
- Connecting Mission Kids with potential donors or business sponsors.
Ambassador Role & Public Representation
YPG members serve as ambassadors for Mission Kids by:
- Promoting Mission Kids’ mission within their personal and professional networks.
- Advocating for Mission Kids and educating others about its work.
- Sharing Mission Kids initiatives on social media and in the community.
- Representing YPG and Mission Kids professionally and ethically at events and public engagements.
Confidentiality & Responsible Advocacy
- Members must maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive or private information about Mission Kids, its clients, and its operations.
- Case details or identifying information may not be shared or discussed.
- All media inquiries should be directed to Mission Kids staff.
Accountability & Tracking Engagement
To ensure active participation, YPG leadership will:
- Track meeting attendance, event participation, and volunteer hours.
- Conduct an annual check-in to assess engagement and discuss future goals.
- Reach out to inactive members via a check-in email. If no response is received, the member will be assumed to have stepped down.
- Members who step down may reapply if they wish to rejoin in the future.
Annual Review & Goal-Setting
At the end of each year, members will complete a self-assessment and goal-setting form, reflecting on their contributions and setting goals for continued involvement. Members will have the opportunity to:
- Express interest in leadership roles.
- Identify areas for growth and deeper engagement.
- Provide feedback on YPG programming and initiatives.
