Hand Signaling (Teach kids basic hand signals for turning and stopping)
Bike Inspection & Tune-up (Assist with checking tires, brakes, and seats to ensure bikes are safe to ride)
Bike Fitting Station (Adjust bike seats and handle bars to rider height)
Helmet Fitting & Apparel Check (Ensure kids are wearing properly fitted helmets and adjust straps if needed, confirm shoes are tied and that clothing won’t catch on bike)
Warm-Up Area (Prepare kids to enter the course, review basic safety reminders and lead a quick stretch)
Slow Race (Conduct a balance challenge where kids must ride as slowly as possible without putting their feet down)
Quick Stop & Dodge Drill (Teach kids why it is important to be able to stop quickly - drill with car door opening into path, cardboard "sewer grate", and wandering pedestrians)
Rock Dodge/Thread the Needle Drill (Teach kids how to navigate around and between obstacles)
Straight-Line/Look-Behind Drill (Instruct kids to stay between two lines while looking back periodically to practice bike control and situational awareness)
One-Handed Riding Drill (Kids drop pebbles in a can while riding one-handed to practice riding with a hand free for signaling turns and stops)
Big Blockers Drill (Teach kids how to safely get around campers, trucks, parked cars, etc.)
Driveway Safety Drill (Simulate common hazards in and around driveways)
Water Station (Help distribute water throughout event to keep kids hydrated and energized - distribute snack packs at conclusion of Bike Parade)
Emcee/Announcer
Bike Parade Decoration Station (Help kids decorate their bikes for the parade)
Safety Trivia Booth (Engage kids with fun bike safety questions and small prizes for correct answers)
