  • All coaches are required to read this contract and sign the document prior to coaching. By signing this contract, you acknowledge your understanding and willingness to comply with Oceanway Sports Association Coaches Conduct Guidelines.   


    OSA’s mission is to promote youth sports in the Oceanway Area. OSA adheres to the following guidelines, including:  OSA promotes sportsmanship, team play, leadership, and personal development.  

    COACHES: 

    • Please remember that you are teaching young athletes and each player has different readiness levels in the sport of Football, Flag Football, Baseball/Softball/T-Ball or any other Sport affliated with OSA including Conditioning Camps. It is important that you demonstrate empathy, support, and patience as you teach these athletes at a level they understand. You are to act as a positive role model, demonstrating behavior that players can respect and aspire to follow in all areas including language to the players and with Social Media Platforms. 
    • Coaches should expect that if they behave outside of the rules of OSA, Pop Warner, NFL Flag and/or Babe Ruth that they could face removal from our program. OSA reserves the right to terminate the coaching privileges of any coach who fails to comply with OSA or Governing Body guidelines or acts in a manner conflicting with the standards of the organization. OSA will play and abide by the Pop Warner, NFL Flag or Babe Ruth and OSA Board Approved Rules.  
    • Oceanway Sports Association and the City of Jacksonville will conduct a background check of all coaches who intend to volunteer within OSA. We reserve the right to exclude volunteers from coaching within OSA based on the findings of the background check. You will only be notified if you need to be asked to remove yourself from the program.  
    • The Head Coach is responsible for the actions of their coaching staff and all equipment, keys, provided by OSA. 
    • Head Coaches are required to notify the Park Director, Coordinator and the OSA President and Vice President of any injuries sustained by a player during practices and games within 24 of the injury occurring as well as complete the injury report form with the Park Director for OSA records. Coaches will not allow a previously injured player to return to practices/games without documentation from a medical professional that has been reviewed and approved by the Park Director, Coordinator, OSA President/Vice President. 
    • Due to the liability and risk involved, OSA discourages any coaches/board members from transporting players/participants to and from OSA games/events. 
  • All individuals listed on the final roster and receiving a badge are required to sign  
    this Contract and Agreement prior to the beginning of the season.

    In doing so you acknowledge your understanding of all rules within OSA including those for Pop Warner, NFL Flag or Babe Ruth and your willingness to comply.

    Please acknowledge the responsibilities that are expected of you such as field preparation and game day activities.

    Also, you will be placed on a rotation of job assignments to assist where needed.   

    I understand that OSA has a Zero Tolerance Policy with regards to a coaches behavior. I agree that any conduct unbecoming of an OSA Coach that affects the image of your sports as a whole including OSA, NFL Flag, Pop Warner & Babe Ruth Organizations will be grounds for removal from the program.
