  • 6. Question: What is the tongue called and what is it responsible for?

    (James 3:6)

    Answer

  • The tongue is a fire. The tongue is a world of wickedness set among our members and contaminating, and depraving the whole body, and setting on fire the whole cycle of man.

    7. Question: Who or what is responsible for igniting the tongue or inspiring the tongue to speak evil things?

    (James 3:6)

  • Notice this word "hell" in the Greek is, sh'owl, sheh-ole' or shol {sheh-ole'}; from 07592; means; Hades or the world of the dead (as if a subterranean retreat.)

Including it's accessories and inmates: -grave, hell, pit, which is the lake of fire of eternal damnation. It stands in this passage for the demonic powers of that realm which inspire this evil use of the tongue. ("Gehenna")

The New Testament Greek word "Gehenna" usually translated as "hell" refers to the way God's justice will deal with evil in the world. Gehenna comes from the Hebrew phrase, "Gey' Hinnom," which means the, "valley of wailing." It's an actual valley on the southwest side of Jerusalem.

  • 13. Question: Describe the tongue of a foolish man and it's fruit.

    (Proverbs 15:1-4)  (Proverbs 18:6-7)

  • The word stroke, from the Strong's Concordance, No. 1986 means: to stroke down, by impel, to hammer, to stamp, to conquer, to disband, to smite, to break down.

  • 14. Question: To what does Proverbs liken a person who is always jesting or joking? (Proverbs 26:18-19)

    Answer

  • This verse is describing a man who is throwing fiery darts for Satan. He is a madman because he is aiding Satan in helping him defeat his Christian brother by destroying the person with his words.

There are enough mental harassments from the attacks of demonic spirits without our aiding Satan by flinging fire brands and arrows at our brothers and sisters in the Lord. It is madness, for we are destroying the very Kingdom of God which we are trying to build.

    15. Question: What must we do if we are to love life, and see good days?
