  • The Valleyview Farmers Market is sponsored by the Valleyview Agricultural Society and administered under the guidelines established by the Alberta Agriculture and Development farmers’ market program. It is controlled by all regulations that are applicable (for instance the Alberta Health Act). All vendors shall adhere to the regulations as set by all regulators governing the products they provide as well as any guidelines as set out by the Valleyview Farmers’ Market.

          • Requirements - Please Read Entirely

          • If selling food-based products, you must take the FREE online Food Safety for Farmers Markets course and provide copy of documentation to the manager & have a copy on display at your table. Vendors selling any type of food products, including for animals, must meet all food safety guidelines outlined by AHS. This free course is available online at AlbertaHealthServices.ca. Specific labelling is required for all food products, including those made in uninspected, home kitchens. Details for these requirements can be at inspection.canada.ca. If you have questions, we can help you figure it out.

            If selling cosmetics, beauty products or natural soaps and products, you must get FREE product certification and provide a copy of documentation to the manager & have copies available at your table. Products sold must meet all guidelines outlined by AHS.             Please note that as per Alberta Approved Farmers Market regulations, 80% of our vendors must be “Make it, Bake it, Grow it” in Alberta. The remaining 20% can be out of province made, re-sale/imported items, direct sales, etc. There is no selling of used, antiques and/or consignment items allowed. If you are unsure where you fit in, please connect with the Market Manager to discuss. Example: Personal services vendors like massage/reiki/ reflexology are allowed.

          • Market Location and Hours
            The Valleyview Farmers’ Market is held at the Memorial Hall, located at 4808–50 Street, and operates from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

            IMPORTANT: Please do not sell any products or items to the general public before 11:00 a.m.

            Setup & Teardown
            Vendors may begin setting up as early as 9:15 a.m., with the expectation of being ready for 10:45 a.m.  If you wish to arrive earlier, you must obtain prior approval from the market manager before the market day.

            Early takedown of your booth is not permitted. If you sell out early, we encourage you to stay and promote your business. You may have someone operate your booth in your absence, provided they are a family member or employee who is knowledgeable about your products.

            Please do not use screws, nails, tacks, hooks, or tape on any walls. If you need to hang items, please bring your own stand or rack.

            After unloading your products and display items, please move your vehicle away from the building to allow customer parking near the front and side entrances. No exceptions. Assistance is available if needed—please ask.

            Product Guidelines & Market Policies
            The Valleyview Farmers’ Market reserves the right to limit the number of vendors selling the same or similar products. However, exclusive rights to any product or item are not guaranteed.

            Due to Alberta Health Services regulations, animals and pets are not permitted at the market. Additionally, pets may not be sold or given away on or near the premises.

            Booth Setup
            Tables and chairs are available on-site. Vendors must bring their own table coverings. Please store any extra boxes or containers neatly under your table to keep your area clean and safe.

            At The End of The Market
            Clean and wipe your table, fold and return tables to the designated cart, stack  chairs neatly, dispose of any garbage and ensure your area is clean.

            Table Fees & Cancellations
            Tables must be paid in advance to secure your booth and be included in promotional marketing. Refunds are available up to one week prior to the market date. No refunds will be issued after this time.

            Payments can be made via e-transfer to: vvfarmersmarket@hotmail.com

            Please ensure that e-transfers clearly indicate your business name, market date(s), # of tables and any other information that you feel nessessary.

            Conduct Expectations
            All vendors are expected to act with respect and professionalism toward the market manager, committee members, fellow vendors, customers, and the general public.

            Non-compliance with these guidelines will result in action by the market manager or committee, including a written warning. Continued violations may result in the revocation of vendor privileges.
