Performances schedule:
- Saturday July 19 from 12 pm to 5:00 pm for studio and outdoor performance events
- Saturday July 19, 7:30 pm performance at the Briggs Opera House (BOH). Call time: 6:30 pm
Tech rehearsals schedule:
- Friday July 18th from 11:30 am to 6:00 pm
- Dress rehearsal will be Friday evening at 6:00 pm.
- Tech rehearsal line-up schedule will be available once all registrations are in. Be prepared to free your entire Friday, especially if you live far away.
TJDF will make every efforts to assign you to the venue of your choice, but we cannot guarantee that your piece will be shown at BOH. We encourage you to be flexible.
The available venues are:
If your piece is assigned to be performed at BOH, you and all your dancers agree to attend all tech and dress rehearsals. You will not be able to perform at BOH if you fail to show up for either, or both.
Please be aware that there are no tech or dress rehearsals for studio and outdoor showings, but you may take some time prior to your performance for a run-through on your own.
You must be present and be fully prepared one hour before curtain time for the dress rehearsal and all performances at the Briggs Opera House.
Your dance piece must be 7 minutes or less. If your piece is longer, you have the option of performing it in one of the studios or outdoor.
Tech concerns:
- Tech at BOH will be minimal: lights are ramped up/down or on/off but you may request a color scheme. Be aware that your alloted tech time is only 45 minutes.
- Music is on and off and should be engineered in advance. Your music must be recorded on one track as MP3 file or similar and emailed to info@thejunctiondancefestival.org upon request.
- If you have props, they must be small or easy to move quickly (there is no storage space at BOH).
- Electrical outlets are not available at the Veterans Park in White River Junction. Be sure to bring your own amplifier if you are choosing to perform at Veterans Park.
Other considerations:
- You agree to submit your bio, photos and music by the dates requested by TJDF. Please submit the information in the format requested.
- Only one piece per applicant will be performed at BOH. If you want to present a different piece, you will have a choice to perform it in a studio or outdoors.
- Please, avoid overtly violent or mature content--no nudity, foul language, offensive lyrics or swearing in your piece.
- You agree to show respect for everyone involved in this festival (dancers, choreographers, organizers, volunteers, guests etc.).
- You agree to confirm receipt of information provided to you by TJDF upon request.
- NO VIDEOTAPING during the performance at the Brigg’s Opera House will be allowed. The performance will be videotaped by professionals. Videotaping is allowed during the dress rehearsal. Performance edits of individual piece will be made available for a $15 fee.
- We will strive to find lodging for dance artists living more than 90 minutes away. For the others who may want to stay overnight on Friday, we recommend the Hotel Coolidge. It is right in downtown WRJ and has great deals provided you reserve in advance.
- There are plenty of cafes and restaurants right downtown and parking is plenty.
Waivers:
- You are participating on your own will and at your own risk. You and all participants in your group will NOT hold TJDF, The Briggs Opera House, or any TJDF staff, liable for injury, theft or loss incurred on the premises.
- You give consent to TJDF to take, edit and publish pictures or videos of the festival that may include your image to use for promotional and grant related material.
