Bursary Amount
- The Founders' Bursary provides financial support for post-secondary education.
- Two applicants will each receive a bursary of $1500.
Eligibility
You are eligible to apply if you meet all of the following criteria:
- Your parent (natural, legally adoptive, or stepparent) is a Bethany employee who has completed at least one year of permanent full-time or part-time employment with Bethany;
- You are under the age of 25 on December 31, 2025;
- You are a full-time student in grade 12 or currently enrolled at a post-secondary institution; and
- You will be enrolled in the coming year at a recognized Canadian university, college, or technical institution in a program of study leading to a degree or diploma.
Required Documents
Your application must include:
- A copy of your most recent transcript;
- Two signed reference letters;
- Post-secondary acceptance letter (required for grade 12 students only); and
- Confirmation that you will attend the Awards Ceremony on September 17, 2025, from 3:00PM-5:00PM
Important: Recipients must attend the Awards Ceremony as a condition of receiving the bursary.
Application Deadline
Submit your completed application by June 30, 2025.

Selection Process
- The Founders’ Bursary recognizes scholastic excellence, clear career goals, outstanding leadership, and community service.
- Applications are reviewed by a selection committee, which includes Bethany Board members, leadership representatives, and other appropriate individuals.
Notification and Awarding of Bursaries
- Applicants will be notified of the selection committee’s decision in September 2025.
- Bursary winners must attend the Awards Ceremony on September 17, 2025, from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM in Calgary, Alberta, where the awards will be presented.
Reapplying in Future Years
You may apply again in future years if you meet the eligibility criteria, but you must submit a new application with updated documents each time.
Photo and Video Policy
- Photos and videos will be taken at the Awards Ceremony and may be used for promotional materials, reports, and social media.

Tax Information
- Bursaries are taxable in the award year.
- Recipients must submit their social insurance number (SIN) to receive a T4A tax form, which will be issued for tax reporting purposes.
Please note: If you receive a bursary and withdraw from your program before completing the academic year, you must return the award to Bethany.
