The Pittsburgh Scholar House (PSH), in collaboration with the Pittsburgh Council on Higher Education (PCHE), is excited to offer the PCHE Scholar designation.The program identifies and prioritizes parenting students in the PSH Wayfinders Program who demonstrate academic commitment and potential, offering them a pathway to success through targeted financial support, mentorship, and additional holistic assistance, such as monthly case management.
The PCHE Scholar Designation aligns with PSH’s mission of disrupting cycles of poverty by supporting single parents and families, while leveraging the resources and networks of PCHE to expand higher education access and completion for Scholars.
Application is due by May 2, 2025, at 11:59 PM
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must be enrolled at a PCHE university, be on track to graduate by May 2026, and have a minimum GPA of 2.75.
Applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:
Be an active PSH Scholar
Be a Parent Pathway Scholar
Be enrolled in an associate or bachelor’s degree program
Application Process:
Submit a completed application
Submit a personal statement outlining your educational and career goals, as well as how this designation would benefit you and your family
Upload an unofficial transcript from your current institution
Selection Criteria:
Strength of application
Engagement level in the PSH Wayfinders Program
Academic merit
Successful completion of a panel interview
