  • Appointed National Officer Commitment Form

    As a National Officer in Theta Tau, I will:

    • Perform my duties so as to honor the trust of the membership that elected me.
    • Comply with all applicable statutes and regulations applying to non-profit organizations and the terms of the Articles of Incorporation, the Constitution, Policies & Procedures Manual (PPM), and other policies adopted by the Executive Council.
    • Protect the interests of the fraternity as determined by the Executive Council, its mission, and prudent business practice.
    • Protect the confidentiality of private or confidential information to which I become a party, i.e. member lists, financial information, etc.
    • Refrain from asserting authority as a National Officer except when participating in a meeting of the Executive Council or as the Executive Council delegates to me; recognizing the chair of the Executive Council as the final authority.

    Accept my personal responsibility to:

    • Contribute, support, and implement the Strategic Plan and Goals of the fraternity.
    • Attend the National Meeting and pay my expenses to any stand-alone National Officer meetings.
    • Review all information and materials sent to me in connection with National Fraternity business and to provide to the Executive Council my best attention and judgment in a timely manner.
    • Participate in committees and special tasks that I volunteer or am appointed to and complete all associated assignments.
    • Conduct at least three (3) Official Visits per year if a Regional or Candidate Chapter Director.
    • Conduct myself so as to reflect positively on the fraternity and my fellow National Officers.
    • Recruit and mentor possible volunteers who can make significant contributions to the fraternity, pledging to submit the name of a potential volunteer to the Executive Council and to recruit a potential volunteer to attend the National Convention.
    • Respect the integrity and abilities of my fellow National Officers.
    • Respect and support all decisions of the Executive Council once a decision has been reached, even when I am in a minority position on such actions.
    • Tender my resignation if I become unable to serve in accordance with the provisions of this commitment.
  • Theta Tau Executive Council Commitment Form

    I understand that:

    • An Executive Council office is not just a ceremonial position. The Executive Council serves as the Board of Directors for the fraternity, debates policy, defines initiatives, serves our members, and assists the Central Office. As such, it is a leadership position, and a working position.
    • Successfully fulfilling the duties of an Executive Council position requires not only superior understanding of the various operational aspects of our Fraternity, it also requires leadership, management, ingenuity, and administrative skills.
    • It is a position that will require your regular and timely input to address matters brought to the Executive Council’s attention for action. While time commitment varies across roles, the typical minimum is 20 hours per month.

    As a member of the Executive Council, I will:

    • Perform my duties so as to honor the trust of the membership that elected me.
    • Comply with all applicable statutes and regulations applying to non-profit organizations, the terms of the Articles of Incorporation, the Constitution of Theta Tau Fraternity, and the policies adopted by the Executive Council.
    • Protect the interests of the fraternity as determined by its Council, its mission, and prudent business practice.
    • Protect the confidentiality of private or confidential information to which I become a party as a member of the Council, i.e. member lists, financial information, etc.
    • Refrain from asserting authority as an Executive Council member except when participating in a meeting of the Executive Council or as the Executive Council delegates to me; recognizing the chair of the Executive Council as the final authority.

    I will accept my personal responsibility to:

    • Contribute, support, and implement the Strategic Plan and Goals of the fraternity.
    • Attend and actively participate in the meetings of the Executive Council.
    • Pay my expenses to any stand-alone Executive Council meetings and to fraternity events where my attendance is not required.
    • Maintain the email address provided to me as a privilege of my elected position, and follow all email policies laid out by the fraternity.
    • Regularly check communication platforms for any Executive Council correspondence. Respond to any Executive Council matters within 5 days unless otherwise specified.
    • Review all information and materials sent to me in connection with Council business and to provide to the Executive Council my best attention and judgment in a timely manner.
    • Conduct at least one Official Chapter Visit per biennium and submit corresponding reports and recommendations in a timely manner.
    • Participate in committees and special tasks that I volunteer or am appointed to and complete all associated assignments.
    • Conduct myself so as to reflect favorably on the fraternity and the Executive Council.
    • Recruit and mentor possible volunteers who can make significant contributions to Theta Tau fraternity.
    • Respect the integrity and abilities of my fellow Executive Council members.
    • Respect and support all decisions of the Executive Council once a decision has been reached, even when I am in a minority position on such actions.
    • Tender my resignation from membership on the Executive Council if I am, or become, unable to serve in accordance with the provisions of this commitment.
