School of Rock 2025 Recommendation Form

Dear Recommender: The School of Rock is a professional development opportunity for formal and informal educators focused on scientific ocean drilling cores and data. This year, on a transit on R/V Marcus Langseth from San Diego to the Galapagos, in-service and pre-service teachers will work with scientists to learn about many aspects of the ring of fire, Galapagos geology, investigate the nature and process of science, and learn what evidence we gather about these topics from scientific ocean drilling. This new-found knowledge will help teachers in creating or modifying existing resources for their students in many areas of the science curriculum. By the end of the workshop, participants will prepare a dissemination plan for how they will use their new knowledge, connections and resources.
