Job Description: MESA|TRIO Tutor and Facilitator

Rate: $19.00

Examples of Duties:

Meet with students on a one-on-one or small-group basis to give learning assistance.
Help students with study strategies and techniques.
Demonstrate knowledge within the specific academic area assigned to work with students.
Provide individualized tutoring sessions on foundational skills and other academic coursework.
Provides other instructional support services as assigned and clerical tasks.

Minimum Qualifications (MQ): Education and Experience:

Graduation from high school or GED
Satisfactory completion of college-level coursework, including units in the area of tutoring assignments (i.e., Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics)
Prior experience as a tutor is preferred, but not required. Will train.

Time Commitment:

These temporary, hourly positions are based on Rio Hondo College (RHC) needs. Tutor II may work up to 20 hours per week (tutors generally work 5 to 15 hours weekly). We will work with your availability around your classes and other commitments.
