The USF Mellon Humanities Internship student application process is as follows:
- Fill out the interest form and submit it.
- Once approved for the program you will receive an email with instructions for searching Handshake for internship opportunities specific to this program.
- Your faculty member may have follow up questions or an interview to assess your needs and interests.
- You will then seek and apply for internships via Handshake. Recruiting processes may verify by employer/organization, including interview scheduling and skills assessments.
- When you are hired for the internship, you will receive an offer letter from the employer/organization. The hiring manager should ensure you have an offer letter.
- You must fill out a Handshake Experience Form and upload your offer letter in order to be permitted for your internship course.
- Once you are informed that your permit has been issued, you may enroll in the internship course.
- There will be a pre-internship orientation and various class assignments based on the department and the number of credits you are taking.
- Go to your internship and complete your 50 hours.
- You will receive a disbursement from Financial Aid for the internship ($1000 per course/internship) paid after the course begins. You are required to complete the internship hours in order to be eligible for future Mellon Humanities Intership opportunities.
- After the internship and your course are complete you will have a post internship workshop with the Center for Career & Professional Development.
