The Worker Healthy Living program is the country’s first healthcare program specifically designed for Gig Workers, including rideshare and for-hire vehicle drivers, built to address chronic conditions. Gig workers are disproportionately impacted by chronic conditions and have greater challenges accessing healthcare given the nature of their work. The Worker Healthy Living program brings high-quality care directly to patients, focusing on “whole person” care that leads to better long-term health outcomes.
Participants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the program:
- 18 or older
- Black Car or rideshare driver who drives in New York State and is enrolled in IDG’s partner benefits program, Drivers Benefits.
- Must have a TLC or an active driver's license in upstate New York, with proof of the Uber or Lyft app
- Living in NY, NJ, CT, or PA (video visits available); in-person visits are available in Brooklyn and Queens only.
Note: Driver must physically be in NY, NJ, CT, PA in order to do a video screening due to licensing requirements.
Are you a driver but unable to drive due to illness or extenuating circumstances? Please contact us at help@driversguild.org or call us at 1-844-210-2795 to submit an application with an exemption.
