VISA REQUIREMENTS:
US Citizens: At this time no visa is needed. But in late 2025, US citizens visiting parts of Europe may need to complete the European Union's Entry/Exit System (EES) which is scheduled to go into effect in October 2025. The European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) is scheduled to go into effect about 6 months later. These are a “pre-travel screening for security and migration risks of travelers benefiting from visa-free access to the Schengen area.”

The Schengen Area is a zone of 26 European countries that do not have internal borders and allow people to move between them freely, including countries such as Spain, France, Greece, Germany, Italy, and Poland.

Visa-free travelers, including US citizens, will need to request ETIAS authorization before visiting the Schengen Area. You can complete an application and pay a service fee of 7 euros (about $8) online. The authorization will be valid for three years.

NON-US Citizens: Please contact the Embassy of the country that issued your passport for visa, EES, and/or ETIAS requirements & assistance.

The EES and ETIAS are not currently in place, you will be notified when/if the EES and the ETIAS become required for US citizens traveling to the EU.

Travel Insurance

We recommend that you purchase travel protection. Expanding Horizons offers a private group plan from Trawick International. You can find the link to get a quote on the Travel Essentials page of the website. Our Group plan must be purchased prior to final payment to receive the Pre-Existing Medical Conditions Waiver. If you want to purchase a plan with Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) coverage, then you must purchase an individual plan within 21 days of your deposit to qualify. It is the travelers responsibility to purchase travel insurance as travel protection is never automatically added to any reservation.

MOBILITY CLAUSE: A reasonable degree of mobility is required. Passengers may be required to ascend and descend flights of 12 or more stairs to board or exit the ship.

Persons with a walking disability, an injury, or who require a wheelchair/scooter or another mobility device, must have another dedicated person traveling with them to assist with their needs.

Entry/Exit System (EES): I understand that I will be responsible for securing this travel authorization prior to departing the US. It is scheduled to go into effect in October 2025, US citizens will ber required to obtain EES documentation for entering most countries in Europe.
