Current Artist Circle members and students from JOURNEY partner schools are invited to participate in this exclusive opportunity to create new original art work for the cover of the Summer 2026 issue of Arts Cultural Magazine (ACM).

The work should be inspired by Summer and what the season means to you!

One work will be chosen out of all the entries for the cover of the ACM and a stipend of $250 will be awarded to the artist.

ACM is published three times a year. Total reach is 20,000 per issue. The magazine is distributed by direct request and to cultural institutions and local businesses throughout Suffolk and Nassau counties.

• ENTRY DEADLINE: April 27, ‘26
• ACCEPTANCE: May 6, ‘26
• DELIVER WORK: May 15, ‘26

HOW TO ENTER

• Digital Submissions only - Images must be no larger than 7mb (300 dpi, 2400 pixels on the longest side)
• Entries limit (3) and all work must be original to the entrant.             
• The winning artist is responsible for providing a high-resolution image for printing and promotional use.
• Bio & statement with entry.

Entry Requirements:

• Artist Bio – Approximately 2-3 sentence biography about themselves and what inspires them as an artist. 

• Artist Statement – Approximately 50-150 words; about the message their art

• Artwork. Please title the file as "Name of Artists_Title of Work.filetype" 

 Size Limits:

• Work should be similar proportion to the image space for the cover which is W 8.625 in x H 11.375 in

ELIGIBILITY

• HAC artists circle members and students from JOURNEY  partner schools. 

• All 2-dimensional media.

OWNERSHIP

• HAC will maintain ownership of the original artwork awarded the cover. 

• Artist retains copyright, however HAC has license to use the piece for promotion above and beyond the cover of the newspaper.
