Welcome to our world of youth gun violence prevention! The T.R.I.G.G.E.R. Project is a trailblazing nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing youth gun violence in Washington, D.C. We operate at the intersection of public health and positive youth development, using community-driven strategies to engage and support all youth exposed to gun violence. Our organization focuses on economic empowerment, leadership development, education, and advocacy to build a world absent of the disease of gun violence with and for youth.
TRIGGER University is our flagship program within The T.R.I.G.G.E.R. Project, primarily focused on summer youth employment, socio-emotional learning, and leadership training. The “School of Prevention”, established in 2017, provides paid opportunities for youth to engage in gun violence prevention work while gaining career skills, mentorship, and economic opportunity.
