  • "Written" refers to text, email, or Time To Pet correspondence.

  • This agreement ("Agreement") remains in effect annually unless terminated by Written notice from either party. Effective from this date between the parties listed in Section I.*

  • I.

  • Format: (000) 000-0000.
  • II. General Terms

    A. Whiskers and Snoots (W&S), operating as a sole proprietorship and insured through Pet Sitter’s Associates, provides pet care services to North Carolina residents who have completed a meet-and-greet, submitted the required paperwork, and provided all necessary information in their Time To Pet profile.

    i. Required Paperwork:

    a) Whiskers and Snoots Pet Sitting Agreement

    b) Whiskers and Snoots Medical Info. and Veterinary Release Form

    c) A rabies vaccination certificate (NASPHV form #51) or an official veterinary record signed by the vaccinating veterinarian per North Carolina law. (Not required if the pet is strictly indoor.)

    B. W&S reserves the right to modify this Agreement at any time. W&S will notify Clients of important changes to this Agreement. By continuing to use W&S services after being notified, the Client agrees to the updated terms.

    C. W&S strives to provide reliable services but is not responsible for events outside W&S's control (e.g., illness or loss) unless due to gross negligence or intentional wrongdoing.

    D. Concerns must be raised within 24 hours of service in Written format.

  • III. Services

    A. W&S provides pet-sitting services including walks, feeding, water, enclosure and litter box cleaning, playtime, companionship, and medication administration. This list is not exhaustive and applies only to services involving pets.

    i. Dog Visits: Up to two (2) dogs per walk, with individual walks for better control in cases of leash reactivity. Minimum booking is 30 minutes for two (2) dogs, increasing by 30 minutes for every additional two (2) dogs.

    ii. Cat/Other Pet Visits: Minimum of 30 minutes per visit. Up to three (3) cats can be supervised during meals; for free-fed cats, a maximum of six (6) cats per 30 minutes.

    iii. Large Pet Families & Specialized Care: Up to eight (8) pets per 60 minutes. Visit length and pricing may be adjusted based on pet count and care complexity.

    iv. Overnight Visits (9 PM - 5 AM): W&S performs all standard pet care duties while staying overnight in a designated location in Client’s home.

    v. Availability: The first client to request an available time will have priority. Two month advance booking is strongly recommended before major holidays and peak vacation periods.

    B. W&S will enter the home only during scheduled services, or with direct permission.

    C. Client must provide all necessary information in the Time To Pet system. W&S is not responsible for issues arising from incomplete or missing details.

    D. Service Limitations: W&S does not offer group walks, training, grooming, boarding, jogging, hiking, or pet taxi services.

    E. Only W&S will provide care; no additional individuals will be introduced to the home, except in emergencies or as directed by Client.

    IV. Scheduling and Communication

    A. Service requests and changes must be submitted in Written format. A service is confirmed only when W&S sends a Written confirmation.

    B. Non-emergency communication is handled between 6 AM and 8 PM.

    C. Clients are responsible for informing W&S of their return from a trip.

    V. Visits

    A. Arrival times have a two-hour window and may vary due to traffic or animal behavior. While W&S aims for requested times, they are not guaranteed. Visits are scheduled within a 24-hour window at maximum.

    B. Time To Pet reports include GPS data, completed tasks, and photos. However, photos may not always be possible if pets are hiding, and GPS accuracy may vary due to connectivity issues.

  • C. If Client is delayed and W&S is unavailable, Client preauthorizes emergency contacts or qualified pet sitters and agrees to cover any additional costs.

    D. Pets may behave differently in Client's absence, and outcomes of assigned activities depend on individual pets.

    E. Disposal of all pet waste will occur in the directed outdoor trash containers at the end of every visit.

    F. Outdoor play may be restricted if the yard contains waste or hazards.

    G. Client authorizes W&S to use bathroom facilities as needed for their well-being and the pets.

    H. Only treats provided by Client will be given to their pet.

    VI.Pet Health and Contingency Plans

    A. W&S will administer medications as instructed but is not liable for unexpected reactions.

    B. Pets with contagious illnesses will not be cared for; if illness is discovered, precautions will be taken until another caregiver is arranged.

     i. Client must notify W&S of any potential contagious illness to avoid liability for other pets.

    C. W&S will follow the Medical Info and Veterinary Release Form for any injury or sickness.

    D. In severe weather, outdoor time may be reduced, with indoor activities provided.

    E. Client must provide a pet guardian (backup caregiver) who can care for their pet if they are delayed, unreachable, or unable to return home. In emergencies or illness, W&S is authorized to arrange a qualified pet sitter and will notify Client when possible.

    F. For emergencies, severe weather, or natural disasters, W&S will use reasonable judgment for pet and home care, contacting the Client-listed emergency contact or pet guardian if necessary.

    VII. Owner Liability and Pet Safety Rules

    A. W&S minimizes risks by avoiding unfamiliar animals and people. Client agrees to be responsible for claims, damages, and legal costs arising from pet-related injuries, per North Carolina dog injury laws.

    B. Client is responsible for disclosing pet history. If W&S is harmed or exposed to illness, Client is liable for all related costs.

    C. W&S accepts pets with behavioral issues only if they are trained to wear a muzzle, harness, and leash off the client’s property. Failure to disclose may result in liability under North Carolina's ‘dangerous dog’ laws.

    D. W&S does not guarantee walks for pets in heat.

  • E. Pets with outdoor access or unsupervised access to a fenced yard are considered free-roaming. W&S is not responsible for any pets that escape, become lost, or sustain injuries, regardless of fence type unless caused by the negligence or intentional wrongdoing of W&S. Pets may not be left unattended in a fenced yard or tied without explicit Written consent from Client. W&S is also not liable for pets left in these conditions by other individuals.

  • VIII. Guest Pets and Visiting Animals

    A. W&S provides care solely for Client’s pets. Visiting pets must be registered as W&S clients to receive services.

    IX. Payment, Fees, Discounts, and Purchases

    A. Payments

    i. Client agrees to pay all service charges. Invoices are due four (4) days after the last service.

    ii. Payments (credit/debit or ACH) are processed securely via Time To Pet using Stripe. Cash and checks payable to "Whiskers and Snoots" are also accepted.

    iii. Client authorizes W&S to retain payment information for future invoices and, if enrolled, to charge automatically.

    iv. If unpaid invoices must be sent to collections or legal action is required, Client is responsible for all attorney's fees and collection costs.

  • C. Services and Benefits Free of Charge

    i. Holiday and weekend visits

    ii. One meet-and-greet within 10 miles

    iii. One key pickup and return per week

    iv. Medication administration

    v. Non-holiday cancellations

    D. Additional Fees 

    i. Additional time and fees may apply for services involving extensive handling, supervision, free-roam time, enclosure maintenance, medication administration, or other specialized care.

    Supplementary Fees: Cost:
    Frequent key exchanges: $5 per visit
    Locksmith (if keys don’t work): $75 + locksmith fees
    Returned check/NSF fee: $25 + bank fees (Terminated after 2 instances)
    Late payments: 10% one time fee. (Terminated after 7 days)

    E. Holiday Cancellations: (New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, post-Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day)

    i. 100% charge if canceled with less than 1 week's notice.

    ii. No refunds for early returns.

    F. Discounts and Credits

    i. Discounts are subject to change and not guaranteed.

    G. Purchases

    i. W&S will contact Client before purchases. If unreachable, Client authorizes W&S to purchase items necessary for the pet's well-being, with reimbursement due within 7 days.

  • X. Client Key Management and Entry Methods

    A. For homes with multiple entrances, two working key copies are recommended: one for the primary entrance and one for an alternate. Gated communities require gate cards or codes. Newly provided keys must be tested before the first service day.

    B. Client keys are labeled with W&S contact information and will be GPS tracked during active service periods for added security

    C. Keys will be returned according to Client's instructions, or pickup at the W&S address can be arranged.

    D. Clients may use a lockbox for temporary access, eliminating the need for W&S to carry keys. No fees apply for pickup or return, but the lockbox code must be in the Time To Pet profile. W&S does not provide lockboxes and is not liable for any access issues.

    E. W&S is not liable for unauthorized access during visits. Client should change access codes before services to prevent liability if others enter while W&S is caring for their pets.

    F. If the provided entry methods are ineffective, W&S will reach out to the emergency contact or a locksmith, and additional charges may apply.

    G. W&S will not create a new key without Client authorization, with associated fees due within seven (7) days of receipt.

  • H. If Client declines to provide keys, W&S is not responsible if access to the pets is not possible because the chosen entry methods fail. Charges will still apply if access cannot be gained through Client-approved means after the scheduled visit time.

  • I. W&S agrees to pay for a locksmith or a lock replacement if Client’s key is lost due to W&S's negligence. Client must notify W&S of any changes to keys, locks, or codes.

    J. Before the initial service date, Client should notify their home security company.

    K. All home security system arm/disarm codes must be provided in the Time To Pet Client profile.

  • XI. Client Responsibilities for Property and Safety

    A. In the Time To Pet profile, provide the name and contact information of a trusted maintenance contact for home emergencies affecting pet care.

    B. Client ensures the property is secured before they leave; W&S will re-secure it after each visit unless instructed otherwise by Client in Written format.

    C. W&S will follow Client instructions to the best of its ability but is not liable for property damage unless caused by negligence or intentional wrongdoing.

    D. W&S is not responsible for individuals in the home before, during, or after services. Client must document any third-party access in the Time To Pet profile and understands that W&S is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage caused by others entering the home.

    E. Client must disclose all safety hazards and is responsible for any costs or damages resulting from unsafe conditions. A safe environment for W&S and pets must be maintained.

    F. W&S reserves the right to adjust the thermostat (55-75°F) for pet health and will notify Client of any changes.

    G. W&S is not liable for pet damage to Client's property or for injuries sustained by pets in their home, except in cases of negligence or intentional wrongdoing. Client should report damages immediately and provide repair details within 30 days with a receipt. Credits for damages up to $100 will be applied to the Time To Pet account; insurance will handle claims over $101.

  • If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the validity of the remaining provisions shall not be affected.

    By signing this Agreement, Client warrants that all information submitted to W&S is accurate, current, and complete. Client agrees to maintain secure and up-to-date account details and asserts legal ownership of the pets listed in the Whiskers and Snoots Medical Info and Veterinary Release Form. This Agreement applies to all current and future pets owned by Client; however, new pets must be added to the Medical Info and Veterinary Release Form before services are provided.

    By initialing and signing below, Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to the terms of this Agreement and the Whiskers and Snoots Medical Info. and Veterinary Release Form.
