The 11th Annual Olmsted Plein Air Invitational is a production of Olmsted Arts, Inc. - a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the 11th Annual Olmsted Plein Air Invitational (April 19-27, 2025). Please complete all contact information and make selections based on your interest and availability. Prior to the event we will offer several volunteer orientations which will provide an opportunity to give most currrent information, roles/responsibilities and Q&A.

Our Exhibition Gallery is located at 3107 Clairmont Road Suite A, Atlanta 30329 (about 1 mile west of I-85). Please always plan for traffic and travel times.

Reporting Hours Worked - We ask all volunteers to report hours worked. It is important to us that we track your impact on the event. It is also important that we include your generous donation of time and talent in our narrative to potential financial donors/supporters.

When reviewing the available volunteer slots below you may notice some gaps. This means the available slots for a certain time or day are filled. For instance, all Gallery Docent slots for Sunday (4/20) and Monday (4/21) are currently filled.

Bar Tender - the most popular person in the room who gets to know everyone. Pour beer/wine/soft drinks. Know how to open a beer, uncork a wine bottle, smile. offer a glass and napkin? This may be the job for you.

General Administratiion - needed in advance and during the event. Days/times flexible. Duties to include creating name tags, maintain a running list of painting sales, keeping up with supplies, phone call/emails, etc. Home based or in gallery/HQ space.

We will contact you to talk specific scheduling and tasks.
Competition Panels Prep and Paint (Saturday, April 12 - 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.)

We have thirty panels - 4 feet wide and 7 feet tall - to be patched, sanded and painted in preparation of the evening event on April 26. This activity will occur at the HQ for the Olmsted Linear Park Alliance 1788 Ponce de Leon Ave, Atlanta 30307.
Hang the Show - On Saturday, April 26 the gallery will close at 2:00 p.m. to allow time to hang the competition paintings. A maximum of 54 paintings will need to be hung in preparation for judging and for the awards presentations that evening. Volunteers are asked to arrive by 1:30 p.m. to help with prep work. We begin hanging at 2:00 and have till 3:30 to complete the task.

Artist Sherpa - (no mountain climbing involved) This position is very flexible and ideal for aspiring artists. You will be assigned one or more Olmsted Artists to offer your assistance and knowledge of the city. This can be done by phone or in person. Requires friendly attitude, smiles, familiarity with city/metro area and able to advise on places to paint, directions, traffic patterns, etc.

We will contact you to provide more details, assign an artist or artists.
Evening Events

Tuesday, April 22 5:45 p.m.-8:45 p.m. Gallery Docent/Sales/Greeter - Artist Welcome Reception is the first opportunity for collectors/afficionados to see and meet the Olmsted Artists 2025. Lite bites, beverages, music.Thursday, Apirl 24 5:45 p.m.-8:45 p.m. Gallery Docent/Sales/Greeter - BIG Petite Reveal. Tonight, small paintings (less than 8x10) are available for viewing and purchase. Lite bites, beverages, music.Saturday, April 26 5:15 p.m.-9:15 p.m. Gallery Docent/Sales/Greeter - Artist Awards & Collectors Soiree. Please note: to sign up for this event you must have worked at least two shifts or 8 hours volunteer time prior to this event. Food, beverages, music.
PaintQuick is an outdoor painting frenzy. Artist Check-in begins 7:30 a.m., artists begin painting at 8:00 a.m. Sales/Crowd Control 9:30 a.m.

Artist Check-In, Canvas Authentication 7:15 a.m.-8:30 a.m.Sales/Crowd Control 9:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
Photographic Documentation - (for those armed with cell phones or digital cameras) We utilize event photos in many ways but sometimes things get so busy, we forget to take photos. We need people who can focus on photos. A shot list will be provided and beyond that, you can get creative.

Talk/Demo Host - Our Olmsted Artists 2025 share their experience and expertise via scheduled Talks/Demos all week long. The Host will introduce the artist, remain during the presentation to accommodate needs of the artist, add seating as needed, assist with audio/visual as needed, thank the presenter at the end of the presentation, remind the audience that we accept donations in support of Olmsted Arts, preview schedule of the events and how to buy tickets to evening events, etc. You will find a schedule of Talks/Demos on our website www.olmstedpleinair.com in the Events section to help you choose.
