• Save Lake McCumber

    Lake McCumber needs your help!

Please join us in this cause!
  • PG&E plans to decommission its Battle Creek Hydroelectric System.  This presents an incredible opportunity to restore passage & habitat for salmon & steelhead while ensuring the wild and scenic nature of the Battle Creek Watershed.  We support those efforts.

Lake McCumber & North Battle Creek Reservoir, PG&E’s headwater reservoirs, stand apart in every decommissioning scenario.  This is not about preserving scenic beauty and water features, nor the salmon and steelhead.  Lake McCumber & Upper North Battle will always be wet, wild and scenic, and natural barriers prevent fish passage.

But most importantly,  the Lake McCumber community of over 400 homeowners and 500 parcels will potentially flood without these dams and reservoirs.  The community was not designed for a free flowing North Battle Creek.

Our community is united and engaged in finding a path forward.  We appeal to our elected officials, local, state and federal agencies, NGO’s and all the residents, businesses, landowners, recreationalists, and visitors of the Battle Creek Watershed, to pay attention to this issue and engage with the Lake McCumber community to find a path forward.
