Class 1 Explosives Materials or items that can rapidly decompose or react, releasing gases and heat, causing an explosion. Examples: Fireworks, dynamite, ammunition.
Class 2 Flammable gases Gases that can ignite easily when mixed with air. Examples: Propane, butane, acetylene.
Class 3 - Flammable Liquids Liquids that can produce vapors which can ignite when exposed to a source of ignition. Examples: Gasoline, ethanol, acetone.
Class 4 - Flammable Solids Solids that can easily catch fire through friction, heat, or spontaneous chemical changes. Examples: Matches, magnesium, sulfur.
Class 5.1 - Oxidizing Substances 0Substances that can cause or enhance the combustion of other materials by providing oxygen. Examples: Hydrogen peroxide, potassium nitrate, ammonium nitrate.
Class 5.2 - Organic Peroxides Organic compounds containing oxygen in a bivalent structure (-o-o-), which can be thermally unstable and may undergo explosive decomposition Examples: Benzoyl peroxide, methyl ethyl ketone peroxide.
Class 6 - Toxic & infectious substances Substances that can cause harm to human health through ingestion, inhalation, or skin contact, or that contain pathogens. Examples: Pesticides, cyanides, medical waste.
Class 7 - Radioactive material Materials that emit ionizing radiation, which can cause damage to living tissue and increase cancer risk. Examples: Uranium, plutonium, medical isotopes like iodine-131.
Class 8 Corrosives Substances that can destroy or irreversibly damage other substances on contact through chemical reactions. Examples: Sulfuric acid, sodium hydroxide, hydrochloric acid.
Class 9 - Lithium ION batteries packed with equipment Substances and articles that present a danger during transport that are not covered by other classes. Examples: Dry ice, asbestos, lithium batteries.
