     Competitors must be 28 years of age or under on 1st September 2024 and full members of a Club affiliated to the NFYFC.

  • Mock Auction Rules

    1. Teams to consist of three members. Two 28 & under and one 21 & under on 01/09/2024. All to be paid up members of Dorset YFC.  No limit on teams per Club
    2. Team members will be allowed to consult each other, as only one list of valuations will be required from each team
    3. Teams arriving late will be penalised to the extent that all valuations will be calculated at the same time
    4. At the auction, one member of each team will do the bidding.  This member will wear a white ticket bearing the team’s number and they also should wear a white coat
    5. Catalogues will be available on the day of the sale and not before

     Marks will be awarded under the following headings:

    VALUATION

    • 4 Points for each lot valued @ 5% either way of the official valuation
    • 2 points for each lot valued @ over 5% but not exceeding 10% either way of the official valuation

     AUCTION

    • 20 points for each lot purchased at a figure not exceeding the official valuation by more than 5%
    • 10 points for each lot purchased at a figure which, exceeds the official valuation by more than 5% but not more than 10%
    • No points will be added or deducted for each lot purchased at over 10% but not exceeding 20% of the official valuation.
    • 10 points will be deducted for each lot purchased at over 20% but not exceeding 30% of the official valuation

    20 points will be deducted of each lot purchased at over 30% above the official valuation

     BIDDING

    • Maximum of 10 points for manner in which each team conducts its bidding.
    • Each team may bid for up to six lots (this is subject to change) exact number will be announced on the day if it has changed.

     The club winning the valuation section will receive The Trim Family Shield. The club winning the overall competition will receive the Dairy Shorthorn Society Cup.
