Off The Record: The Improvised Musical Documentary
Description: Off the Record: The Improvised Music Documentary, the smash hit full-band musical improv show, is pleased to announce auditions for a new spinoff! With our new partner Sawubona Creativity Project, we are developing a new show featuring acoustic, folk, electronica, R&B, and hip-hop for monthly run on first Saturdays at 7PM, beginning in August. Joining the spinoff from our main cast are: Jasmine Jiang, pauli reese, Alex Levitt, Annie Briskey, Yasmine Beydoun, and Dan Perlman.
Auditions will be seen Sunday April 13, 1-5:30PM. No excerpts are required. You will have the opportunity to improvise with one of our cast members and perform your song accompanied live by one of our house musicians.
What are we looking for? We are casting 2-3 new company members. The successful auditions will be people who play strong, grounded characters, and who can sing improvised songs in these styles. We especially encourage femme, trans, queer, non-binary, non-white, and/or mixed race improvisers and emcees to apply. We are committed to a minimum 50% of the cast holding at least one of these identities.
Time Commitment: New Cast members must attend four rehearsals prior to their first performance in the show, rehearsal dates TBD though likely on the weekends.
Compensation: All cast are paid an equal share of ticket sales for each performance.
Off the Record: the Improvised Music Documentary was created by pauli reese and David Dritsas.
